    • RE: Classic first round moves - how to kill allied advantage?

So if you as Germany place a sub or some naval unit in the water next to Caucus does that mean that Russia can no longer place any sea going vessels there? Or any country at any space of land boarding water, can you effectively stop there navy by occupying the water around an IC?

Are you not allowed to place your UK navy in SZ2? That would make it so fighters couldn’t reach unless they were all on Norway.

    • Transport escorts

With transports being completely defenseless in A&A1942 what is the best way to protect them? Keeping a pipeline into various areas seems much more difficult to obtain with this new rule. There also is no easy unit in the sea to produce and buy each round to stack next to them like infantry.

I have been hiding my transports and keeping them out of range as best as I can but that kills any real stream of units (for example from the UK into Norway). The best thing I have come up with so far is to try and build a buffer around the mass of transports. I just occupy all land zones or sea zones with at least one unit that aircraft cannot fly over so they will need to enter into combat before they can reach the transports. However, I find it to be costly and hard to maintain. Any suggestions would great!

    • RE: Move Rules Q

Awesome, thanks for the quick response.

So a purchased unit must stay in the territory of the IC it is placed at until next turn? Or can you use it for non-combat, reinforcement type moves?

I apologize, I feel like I’m stealing this thread. I just have a few little questions due to lack of experience.

Is there a thread or an article somewhere that contains a list of rules most veteran players use? Like fighter escorts on strategic bombing raids, or needing to control both sides of the Suez canal to pass through, or how 1942 rules do NOT have tech at all- do most players still play with tech?

    • RE: Move Rules Q

I also had confusion with this rule while playing. So are you saying that even though an Infantry can only move one each turn does that mean it can load onto a transport and then unload in the same turn? Or does loading count as their one move? Thus they would have to wait until the next turn to unload the infantry.

Also how does bridging work? I suppose this would be the same question. Can I say, make a bridge from the UK to Norway and during my ‘place new units’ phase take my two newly purchased infantry and move them to Norway via the transport bridge I have made?
