The new AI is pretty much a complete rewrite. I haven’t been involved in that part of the coding, and so I can’t give specifics- but it should be an improvement. Of course, it’s still rough at the moment, but at least it’s finally being actively worked!

One thing not mentioned so far is that D Day (and similarly- Bulge) tend to be shorter games. We can generally get a D-Day game over in the neighborhood of 1 1/2 to 2 hours. That’s much less than some of the 6 hour classic bloodfests we’ve had.
Of the two, I’d probably go with D-Day as the objectives are clearly stated and the rules are pretty simple.

Everything on page 10 of the rules indicates that this isn’t allowed: Chinese range is colored differently on the board; Chinese infantry cannot be loaded onto transports; Kwangtung is the only non-Chinese territory they can move to; the AVG fighter is considered Chinese for purposes of movement and combat.

The latest unstable version has a second choice for the AI that is currently being enhanced for the next stable candidate release. Have a look and let us know what you think.

Hey Imperious, I’m working over on the AA50 software and someone recently suggested we add these as relief tiles to the map. Would it be ok with you to include them (with credit given of course) in the game downloads?
