Thanks for the feedback EdFactor! I don’t like attacking the CC in SZ91, as it seems suicide to me to attack at a 2, when the CC defends at a 3. I’d rather use 3 subs in the SZ109 attack to ensure the Trans death.

JimmyHat, per the Alphat +2 rules and the fact that the FTR in Scotland can’t reach SZ109, you can only scramble 3 FTR’s to the defense of SZ109

1 S. Bmbr from GermanyI know 3 FTR’s from Eng can scramble but this should be enough to kill the fleet in SZ109 even if the FTR’s scramble. If they don’t even better. And I realize that the FTR & S. Bmbr can’t retreat but it should kill the Trans & DD and at least a FTR or two from Eng. Too risky? Is that risking too many planes from Germany? And once the DD dies, then the subs should be safe from further destruction. Or, you can absorb the first round FTR hits on your SS’s since there is a DD present.

What about just attacking SZ109 w/subs. I thought about this but then you better hit on Turn 1 b/cuz if UK scrambles the FTR’s will kill your sub fleet.

How many subs do you recommend attacking SZ106 with? 2 subs or 3 subs? If the answer is 3 subs that leaves only 2 subs to attack SZ109 with, along with one FTR and one S. Bomber. I don’t see any other aircraft that can reach SZ109 on the first turn. Attacking SZ109 w/only 2 subs seems a little light, as the UK can scramble 3 FTR’s to help rescue SZ109. So I’m guessing the best strategy is to attack SZ109 w/3 subs to help absorb casualties, in case the UK player scrambles? And only attack SZ106 w/2 subs? If only Germany had one more sub…

First turn moves…
Can anyone point me to a thread where it talks about good first turn moves for A&A Global 1940? I’m specifically looking for Turn 1 German, Japan and UK first moves. If there are any threads that talk very specifically about what units go to what spaces/SZ’s, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks VERY much in advance!

Can someone help me with this? I downloaded V.80 Alpha 1. I can get the map to show, which lists all the A&A games, included Pacific 1940 but I can’t see the Global game(Alpha +2) in the list. What am I doing wrong? Can someone walk me through step by step what I need to do to play? I’d really like to get started playing online. Thanks VERY much in advance! =)

I can’t get the A&A Global map to appear in the New drop down window when I launch the Battlemap. I can see the A&A Pacific version, along with all the other versions but the A&A Global map options does not appear. Can someone help? Thanks!
