Awesome, pure and simple.
Thanks for the info though, this will help me actually get into war-game miniature painting, don’t worry though, I’m still going to buy (at least try) to get my personal set of Pacific and Europe 1940. :lol:

@Dylan:
I was actually thinking of this, except the scenario was actually the after-effects of an Allied liberation of France and Indo-China.
I’ve heard of many strategies where the Japanese place a minor IC in FIC, using it support its incursions into China proper and India. Well, assume this IC is now in Allied, specifically French hands. Not saying this is a viable strategy, just an interesting thought.
I’ve put one in French Indo China, but prefer Kwangtaung.
Anyways don’t you think France would be trying to slow down the Germans and care less about Asia.
The scenario is assuming the Germans are more or less, dealt with. Then again, you could say the same for the Japanese on the Asian mainland, if the Allies have been able to successfully establish points there.
The French position in A&A is starting to remind me of Colonial Diplomacy.

@Dylan:
Axis and Allies is supposed simulate the aspect of Total War within the frame of the Second World War. For that reason alone, such things as alliances and ceasefires, incorporated into a normal game would not work.
Well……
And when I mean alliances in terms of game play, I mean shifting ones, like in RISK. I will admit, when I was younger I fritter and toyed with the idea however.
I doubt you have the original version of Pacific, because if you did, you could just cannibalize the Chinese territory markers from there.
Japan.
I’ve always been a bit of a geek, reading and admiring the tactics of the 19th and 20th century naval warfare, and advent of the areoplane and submarine only makes Japan’s aspects in these terms more interesting, at least personally for me. I think reading Kaigun may have had quite an influence of me.

Japan wouldn’t sacrifice their ever so precious Anglo-Japanese Alliance that they strived for in 1902. But if Japan did, an alliance with Germany and the other Central Powers wouldn’t have helped, and in terms of Japanese national security, it would’ve been an utter disaster. Not much to be gained in battle concessions (that could be feasibly taken), and the price of defeat would’ve been quite high
Honestly, Japan tried to stay neutral in the Great War, but the aforementioned alliance drew them in. If the alliance had not been signed, perhaps Japan’s ultimatum on the Republic of China, the Twenty-One Demands, could’ve gone smoother. Of course, that is an entirely different topic.
Oh, UN Spacy, you card, you.

Kind of funny though, so X amount of ANZAC infantry will be included in England’s box?
@Yoper:
@UN:
Which makes me really hope that the French player will be able to build at least infantry, artillery, and tanks.
If you don’t control your capital, you can’t produce units.
Exactly. France is stuck with whatever it can get until liberation, it’ll have to make do.
Funny you mention the French though, despite their country, let alone their military in shambles, they still tried to exert former influence in Indochina…
Of course, we know that didn’t turn out so well.
Only two possibilities exist for after France’s capitulation, it will fall, the Morning might come again, but it will fall during G1 or G2.
The first being is the French navy, probably the majority will be the Mediterranean, maybe something in the Atlantic as well. Since the there is no Vichy element, and no ‘bad blood’ between them and the British, there’ll be no loss of lives (and vessels) between allies. I can see the fleet regrouping, but most likely forming multinational defense rings with England and America. Whatever is left of the fleet that is…
As the land forces, ie infantry, they’ll be scattered in Africa and the Middle East (Syria), again, the only worthwhile option is to form multinational defense, to help the Allies stem the tide. I doubt they’ll be making many offensive campaigns.
Ah, yes. Now I see it, thank you.
Yet still, its all bunched together…
I was about to type, I couldn’t see it, but after carefully reexamining it, I do.
I’m surprised they didn’t set it up like Pac40, all national combatant countries on the box…
You couldn’t see the German flag or the English flag?
I looked at the anniversary box and noticed the red flag with a small white arc at the right of it, which is the hidden German flag
Oh, no no.
In my last post, I was assuming you were still talking about the Europe 40’ box. I saw the English, and hidden German flags in AA50. I do not see however a German flag in this game box artwork, and the English? ( I’m a bit unsure, it may be a Soviet flag ) is obscured by the Italian flag, its hardly visible, at least at the current resolution.

sigh
No, luck in finding a J7W Shinden there, I guess I’ll just have to use that German 262 as a Nakajima Kikka.
I am a bit disappointed though, I see neither head nor tail of the German flag, whether it be swastika, wonky Iron Cross, or even hidden like in AA50.

@Imperious:
Well that guy Calvin is referring too, also advocated a separate military force for defeated Poland…. because he has a close friend who was Polish.
Kind of reminds me of all those people who wanted to add another power to the '40 game because of the presence of a roundel.
I see what you did there.

No seriously though, has anyone heard any news lately, international media seems to have taken their eyes off the DMZ. The last bits I heard were that the South Koreans were planning to resume their ‘propaganda’ broadcast alone the 38th. North Korea is saying it will ‘retaliate with military force’ to stop them.
Is all the North Korean barking over the past three years, just over internal succession disputes?
If there is a god, let it pinch me….
Hell yes!
Not to mention that a victory city, Shanghai, is put at risk.
