      Originally yes, you placed them and that was it.  For scenarios they were great.  For most other matches, if you were rolling a random map, it was a gamble.

      Good call. I ended up buying my iPhone last year when it was mucho dollars. I used money from a huge eBay auction I sold. Then, a month later, iPhones dropped $200. DANGIT! Of course, back then, I wasn’t introduced to A&A.

      ?

      You would normally have separate fire control systems for each caliber of gun, so engaging multiple targets should not be a problem.  Generally, a battleship or cruiser would have sided fire control positions for the secondary and tertiary battery (if carried), so theoritically, you could engage targets on either beam with your secondary guns. You would also have a primary fire control position forward for the main battery, and a secondary fire control position aft for the main battery, which would also allow for split fire of the main battery as well.  I have not sat down and determined exactly how to score that, as yet.

      Very helpful for research. I’m using the Osprey books too for correct uniforms.

      My main question, though, is about how to start creating your own miniatures. Is there a website you know off the top of your hand that’ll show you step by step what to use and do to create something?

      I’ve looked around, but I keep finding things about miniatures for doll houses and stuff.

      Hey, I don’t mean to pull anyone from this awesome community, but I found a supplemental site that offers a database for posting Haves and Wants. It’ll also match trades with other users. Please know that I am not intending to pull anyone from this forum site, but I’m offering you an opportunity to trade easier. The site is www.miniaturetrading.com

      Does anyone have anything to trade in regards to these German miniatures?

      I have a some nice Russian equipment and a huge US army. I’m willing to straight pay for them as well. Let me know if you have anything on your wish list and I may have it. (caution: I’m hesitant to give up certain German units that I don’t have multiples of since this is my primary army.

      If Japan didn’t bomb us, then we would’ve still got in to the war, just alittle later. Hitler wasn’t going to let us just sit around being nutral the whole time.

      @frimmel:

      Agreed. It is sometimes like he can’t remember what it is he wants to tell us. Or he has so much to tell he forgets not to say it all at once. I like that it is taken a lot from the common soldier’s experience but Ambrose does get off track frequently and a little too mired in the details.

      Although that can be good too. In D-Day when he talked about all the stuff the guys carried I felt weighted down with equipment.

      He’s still quite readable.  I just feel like Cornelius Ryan beat him to the punch and did a much better job.  Ambrose certainly goes for the empathy angle.

      @frimmel:

      @tcnance:

      the war of the rats is a good book, made a movie out of it  cant remember the name but it is based on the german-russian front. it centers on 2 dueling snipers in stalingrad

      Enemy at The Gates?

      Exactly what I was thinking.

      The Me262 and the do 335 were some of Adolph’s wonder weapons too.  But I for one would agree things like the v1 and v2 would be too much.  Remember the whole game is suppose to take all of 7 min (not real game time but in theory),

      @dezrtfish:

      @frimmel:

      Didn’t they make some of the units one per force? The heroes I thought?  :|

      LOL, you got me there, but heroes say on the card that they are one per army.

      I think my confusion came in because I thought that it wasn’t on the card that they did it as a correction. I don’t play the land minis but still tend to glance through the forum here and at AH and it can be a lot of information.

      For WAS it depends on whether you want a carrier fleet or a battleship fleet.

      I bought mostly singles and a starter and I think two boosters.

      I bought an Enterprise and two Devastators and two Dauntless and two Wildcats. I picked up 2 Atlantas.

      I bought an Akagi and similar aircraft as for US. Everything else is pretty much what I got out of the starter and two boosters I picked up.

      I have decent if not good 100 pt fleets for US and Japan and okay 200 point fleets. It is plenty for casual play with OOB rules.

      I suggest grabbing a Starter set and two boosters and then fill in your holes. WAS doesn’t really have an I win piece. Maybe the Iowa or Yamato but enough planes can handle 'em. And the Atlantas. You should certainly have an Atlanta which I think is a great utility ship. One in every US fleet.
