    • RE: Where to place US IC ?

@panther Yes, I know that the “etc” explaines it, but thank you agreeing that the term in brackets makes it a little bit confusing. You have to know that English is my thirth language (after Dutch and French) and it isn’t always easy to analyse difficult sentences.

I agree with your second reply and would like to thank you for your replies. It isn’t the first time that you gave me some clarifications, you did it already for my questions about other A&A games. You’re a real specialist :+1:

    • RE: Where to place US IC ?

@panther : I understand your remark and it is certainly correct but the text on top of page 21 is confusing since it state : “If the original controller’s (the power whose territory you just liberated) capital is in enemy hands at the end of the…etc.”

For the second part of your answer… does this means that UK, ANZAC and US (the latter if at war) can move troops in non occupied FIC but they don’t get the territory’s income of it ? But if Japan captures FIC and an Allies captures it back from Japan, then they do get the territory’s income. Isn’t that strange ?

      @ampdrive
FIC : That is indeed correct and it is stated in the manual on page 9. France capital is in hands of Germany, so if US takes control of FIC after Japan took control of it, you liberate it while its capital is in hands of the enemy and then you can build a minor US IC. But what if Japan didn’t take control of FIC ? Can US take control of FIC and build a minor US IC ???

    • Where to place US IC ?

Hello, I’m struggeling with the rules for where to place an IC for the US.
It is not possible on an island (I played it wrong the last time while placing a minor IC in the philippines !). Is Australia an island ? Can you place a minor IC in : Queensland/Malaya/Kwantung when recapturing this territory form Axis and Capital city of ANZAC/UK is in Axis hands ? Can you place a minor in a controlled neutral territory (after capturing) or when moving in a friendly neutral ?
I suppose you can certainly place a minor in Korea after capturing it…
But my general question is : where else ? Which are the possibilities for US to place IC in other territories than the motherland ?

    • RE: Retreating

I just bought a second hand copy of battle of the bulge and I’m reading the operation manual. Since english is not my mother tongue and since I didn’t find a solution in the dictionnary, I 've following question(s) : What does “grayed out” means on Page 16 : "It can’t retreat to a partial (grayed out) hex or off-board ? And what counts for a partial hex on the map ?
      Does anyone knows ?
      Tks

    • RE: Anniversary Edition again out of print ?

@c82rcn : indeed, some sites do mention this, others just state that it is sold out. But is the restock preorder of Zatu a guarantee that there will be a new production ? Maybe, we’ll see. We had the same issue with the memoir44 extentions like the winter/desert board or the meditarenean extention. There I saw too restock preorders and after many months the extentions are now back for sale. Regards

    • Anniversary Edition again out of print ?

      Re: Buying information.

Seems that the anniversary edition is again out of print. you can’t get it anymore in Western Europe, I don’t know about other countries or how about in USA ? Does anyone know ? I still have my 2008 version and find it the best version. Allthough… I now bought the 2nd versions of Europe and Pacific 1940 and will play it soon for the first time.

    • RE: Beginner - questions

@Krieghund : still a remark for the naval base. I meant the territory in which the naval base is located but I think we agree about that.
But why is it written on page 15 “Naval Mine Fields” : “…At the end of this phase, the player controlling the corresponding territory (or the original controller if it’s contested) rolls one…etc” ? Why just not writing that it is only the original controller who can roll the mine dies if he controls the territory, contested of not ?

    • Beginner - questions

Hello, after playing several times AA42 revised, I now bought AAWOI and read the rulebook. I have some questions :

      • Optional rule russian revolution : is it advised to play this option while playing for the first time WO I ? Why do they introduce this optional rule ? To fortify the position of the Central powers ?
      • Naval mine fields : When the adjacent territory of a naval base has been taken over by the enemy, does this rule also counts for ships from the original controller ?
      • Errata WWI : I don’t understand the meaning of the adjustment for Page 15, Phase 2 , movement land units. What’s the impact of the difference with the original text ?

@Panther said in Questions about the rules for 1942 2nd edition:
Now that you made it clear that the answer of the helpdesk of Avalon Hill was wrong, I am still not shore about my initial question :
“Can you move a transport ship 2 territories and then use the transport ship as a bridge to move land units over sea, all in the same turn. Or is your turn over after moving the transporter through two sea territories ?"
