Has anyone ever considered designing a 3d printable battle box replacement? I’m thinking that may be a good solution that would be much more durable than the cardboard version. I’ve never designed anything for printing so not sure how difficult it would be.

You are correct, 3mm. Yeah that’s not a bad idea. I just decided to start putting magnets in my planes as well.

@wartorn said in Field Marshal PLANE STANDS:
Yes sir. 3mm magnet. Fits right on top of the peg. No overlap. Peg is still small enough if you want to mount directly to the aircraft. Also worth mention. I have inserted 3mm steel blanks into my aircraft. Keeps them from bunching together in the piece tray, but give the magnets some strong to hang on to.
Can you point me in the direction of these steel blanks? I can’t seem to find any.

Color Talkposted in Customizations
I thought it would be helpful to have one thread where people can post the specific colors they use for painting their units. I am currently starting to work on my Luftwaffe and could use some help on which grey to use from Vallejo. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a copy of the rules for this? I purchased the chart off HBG and it didn’t come with the rules and the youtube video is no longer available.

@folewnik Thanks for the great ideas. A few follow up questions though…
What about the primer…should I somehow do the latex with it as well? If so I’m assuming I can’t use a spray primer.
Where would I find such a product?
Something like this??

@Mr-Kell
Thanks for the reply! So do you think once I get the pieces carefully painted and then varnish the crap out of them they will be a bit more resilient? Just seems like a lot of people on here paint their infantry and don’t complain about how fragile the paint appears on these pieces in particular. Also, if it’s the chemistry do you think custom infantry from another manufacturer might hold up better? Or even if the color the japan infantry makes it more susceptible than the other countries?Thanks

Prepping Infantry for Painting help neededposted in Customizations
So I started painting my first units about a month ago. I started with Japan and all I have left is the infantry. I have been prepping my pieces by scrapping flashing off, then I wash in warm water and soap and scrub with a toothbrush. After I give them overnight to dry really well I paint with primer, then leave to cure for 24 hours before painting. All my other pieces I haven’t had a lick of trouble but my infantry are proving to be real trouble. The paint keeps flaking off. After I ran into this the first time I stripped them down to bare and start over cleaning again extra carefully but still having the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey thanks man! I appreciate you responding. That’s funny, I was thinking about starting with the jap zero’s for that exact reason lol. Do you have any methods on how you go about painting camo? I haven’t really found any threads or youtube videos that show it being done by hand.
