Let’s add to Yugo battle the TAC from Poland.
Let’s not forget Yugoslavia combat:
6 INF and 2 ART from S. Germany.
2 INF, 1 ARM, 1 FTR from Hungary.
1 INF and 1 ARM from Romania.
Germany 1
Purchases: 1 Carrier, 2 Transports
Combat:
sz106: 1 DD vs. 2 subs - one from sz117 and the other from sz118.
sz110: 1 BB and Cruiser vs. 2 subs (sz 103,108), 3 TAC and 2 FTR from W. Germany, 1 FTR Norway (I know you can scramble 2 UK FTR’s here, but I doubt you will, as you still have 98% probability for AXIS victory. I’m still going to ask if you want to scramble before resolving this zone in combat).
sz112: 2 Cruisers vs. 1 sub from sz124, 1 BB and Cruiser from sz113
W.France:
3 INF, 2 ART, 1 FTR from Hol
1 BMB from Germany proper
France:
1 INF, 3 ARM from Hol
2 ARM S.Germany
3 INF, 4 MECH, 1 ART from W.Germany
1 TAC from Germany
Bulgaria activation with 1 INF from Romania.
Finland activation with 1 INF from Norway.
Do you scramble in 110?
I would like to start a game playing the Axis, any takers?
I suppose we should observe the new turn order:
Turn Order:
1st. Germany
2nd. Soviet Union
3rd. Japan
4th. United States
5th. China
6th. UK
7th. Italy
8th. ANZAC
9th. France
Now that I read more on the thread, it appears that idea was scrapped. Pity.
Say, are my opponents willing to play with Larry’s Convoy Disruption rules being developed (http://www.harrisgamedesign.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=6322)? Sounds like they’ll be added shortly, anyway.
Russia 1
Purchases: 1 FTR, 2 ARM, 5 INF = 37 IPC
NCM:
sz127 Sub to sz112
Amu 3 INF to Bury and 3 INF to Sak
Sak 1 AA to Bury
Vyborg 3 INF to Karelia
Archangel 1 INF to Novgorod
Belarus 1 INF to Baltic States
EPoland 2 INF to Baltic States
North Ukraine 1 ART and INF to E. Poland
Bessarabia 2 INF to E. Poland
S. Ukraine 3 INF to Bessarabia
Caucasus 2 INF to Rostov
Volgograd 1 ARM and mech to Bryansk
Russia 1 INF and ART to Smolensk
Russia 1 ARM and Mech to Belarus
Russia 1 FTR and TAC to Novgorod
Place FTR and 2 ARM in Novgorod, and 5 INF in Moscow.
Russia collects 37 IPCs.
I noticed N. Italy still has a Tac Bomber. This was exchanged for a Strategic Bomber per A3 setup - you added a Strat BMB, but forgot to remove the Tac. I’ll update that on the map after my Russia move.
Thanks for offering the option of low luck. I read some about it on the forums. I’ll pass, I guess, as it could be argued that this game simulates the anticipation a commander has in the efforts of those he commands without the control to predict it. If we can predict outcome of battles, 1) I might as well be playing Chess and 2) It endangers the feeling of a commander over his army. So, the only real option is to embrace the truth that war can be lost, though perfectly commanded, I suppose.
I understand. That was a remarkably bad roll. Evidently, you should win that battle over 90% of the time, according to my odds calculator. Norway was also over 90% for victory for you. This makes me want to play Chess and eschew all lesser games.
If you like, you could re-roll all of your combat again for game 2, if you’re satisfied with your combat movements; if not, just start again from scratch while I can still stand to be away from my chessboard, heh.
