No.  It’s a fictional war.  They wanted it to take place around the 70s.

They actually show up on eBay a lot.  The key is to try different search terms.  Not everyone lists them as Industrial Complexes.  Sometimes you have to try Axis and Allies Factories, Industrial Factories, etc.

As I stated previously, I have never had problems with FMG.  And, I have ordered from them about a half a dozen times.  Please let us know about your experience.

I love it!  I especially love the plexiglass over the board!

Will production copies come with miniatures or wooden cubes?

I think classic may favor the Allies because you can get from Easter US to France in one move.  So the US is getting into the action right away.

I think if Japan doesn’t do tank drive to moscow, the allies chances dramatically increase in most versions.

I saw you guys found a publisher in Italy.  Will there be any USA distribution?

As soon as registration opens, I’m signing up for the G40 event!  I’d sign up for G14, but I’m doing a Cuba Libre event that day.

Maybe I’m just a newbie, but I actually buy cruisers a fair amount, especially when I play as the UK.  I really like it as a cheaper off shore bombardment ship.

What is Dark Skies?

As I read more posts here, I always find it strange that most people say that just about every version of this game is slanted towards the Axis.  I’m not doubting this claim per se, but I want to understand why.

If I had to guess, it’s due to the tank drive to Moscow strategy. Or to put it more simply, it’s too easy to tag team Russia once Japane has Factories on the east coast of Asia.  I find when opponents don’t put factories on the main land as Japan, the Allies typically don’t have much problem winning.

What are everyone else’s thoughts?

It’s weird seeing all this negativity for FMG.  I’ve placed at least 5 orders with them, and everything went as smooth as could be.  A buddy of mine just ordered some dice from them, and hot got them fairly fast without any hiccups.

They are legit.  I’ve placed a few orders with them, and I’ve always been happy with the turn around and product.

I’m not free for a G40 game until February as well, so the timing on that will work out great (depending on weather).  I’ve never played 1914, but I would really like to try it sometime.

I’ll PM you in mid February to look at schedules.

I’m down for a game at Who’s Yer Con!  To be honest, with this winter travel is completely plausible!
