Do you have any idea what goes on in a prison, yourbuttocks? Despite what you see in the movies sometimes, they do have it relatively easy in prison, from what I’ve seen. I’ve visited the Kingston Penitentiary in Canada (NOT as an inmate, I might add). My dad and I used to live with a woman who was a security guard there. Most of the prisoners get their own cells, and they get an ALLOWANCE. They have tv’s in their cells, radios, and other luxuries. I wouldn’t be so harsh as to call someone a ‘fool’ before doing my own research to prove them wrong, yourbuttocks.

Yeah, but we didn’t really have the time to do any of those things. We were in a rush cuz we thought it would be so cool. (heh heh)

Hahaha me and my brother tried somethin like that at a hotel once. We wanted to play underwater cards, so we put clear tape around a bunch of cards, so they were waterproof. So we exhaled as much as possible, so we sunk to the bottom of the pool…we didn’t have enough time to play a real game though, we only had about 7 or 8 seconds before we had to go up to breath again. Hahaha it was fun though, until the cards started breaking apart and getting all mushy, despite the tape.

    • RE: Open Forum for Allied Strategies

Thanks for takin the time to write all that TG! Well, they certainly beat the official strategies posted on the site…they’re not THAT much good to me though, because I don’t play standard Axis and Allies much anymore. I play a lot of games with a lot of rule changes or variations. (such as that US vs USSR).

Being Canadian, I felt that I had to have a Canadian team in axis and allies . While not really historically accurate-Canada being a major world power in world war 2-I thought it would be kinda cool. So I printed out a bunch of miniature canadian flags, and glued them each onto a small cardboard circle, so that’s their country marker. I made their capital eastern Canada, and I put a large Canadian flag there, indicating their capital. Basically there’s no more UK team. Eastern Canada is now worth 8, and UK is worth 3. Canada uses UK’s units, obviously. At the moment, I’m playing a USA and Canada vs. Russia and Japan game. Just started round 4, it’s pretty fun so far…LOTS of naval battles!

Wonder where that anonymous guy that posted this went.

Heh heh the classic. We tried it on my cousin, didn’t work though (he woke up). Another cool one is to put shaving cream in his hand then touch his face with a feather or whatever so he goes to itch his face and gets shaving cream all over it. Always works!

Hey cool, you and I are tied for posts, Ansbach. I’m afraid I’ll have to take the lead here however.

Good points. Specifically how much of an increase would you give the US navy?

SUD-No, I never really thought of implicating the cost to take a neutral territory, so I didn’t do that in this test. I think that’s a cool idea though, I’m not sure how much it would be though. I’ll try that after I play this game through. I also want to try a UK vs. Japan. Although UK could score pretty big on Germany very quickly…

I’ve almost played the whole thing (US vs USSR) through. I’m on round 17 now, and US is definitely going to win within the next few turns. US has been putting massive pressure on the west from UK, and on the east from an asian factory and Japan for awhile. But still, very slow progress! I’m not using any ipc victory, but figures for that could be come up with too.

Hmmm…well you’ve given me a lot to think about TG! How do you think a Japan vs Germany would turn out?

And I can’t believe how blind I am. You pointed out that Canada is a freebie to the US. I haven’t even taken it with the US! I’m in round 13, and I haven’t taken it. LOL geez I can’t believe that.

Heh hey you guys should get together an Axis and Allies 2, and have them market it. Then MAYBE I can find it in the stores! (I’d put a madface thing here, but not sure how…)

Ah! This game is playing out very cooly! I’m on round 12 now…the US did take UK and Japan. It was great cuz it looked like USSR was definitely going to win (they were about 20 ahead on the industrial production chart), but they had NO navy. Which is reasonable because there was a lot more to gain without the use of navy. (for USSR, anyways). US has a good foothold in asia now, which they took through Japan. The US can’t seem to get a reasonable place in Germany from the UK though, the USSR is doing an excellent job of keeping it, while mainting their eastern front.

I think I may try the same idea, but with Japan vs. Germany next time.

No, it’s like you set the entire game up as you usually would, for all countries. Then you just consider UK, German, and Japanese troops all neutral. (they can’t attack, or move, but they can defend.) All territories have the same value. Yeah, tech rolls limited to 2 is good, as well as the first turn IC production limit.

LOL TG. I like playin axis and allies while we’re drinking…have any of you heard about that axis and allies drinking variant? German player gets schnapps, US gets whiskey, USSR get vodka, etc. then whenever you take a territory of theirs, you get a drink outta their bottle. Heh heh, never tried it though. Over here in Holland it’s all legal for me, but when I go back to Ontario I’m going to have to wait another 3 years!

-And I don’t promote underage drinking! When I’m in Canada, I’ll give it up! ('cept for the occasional beer  )
