      Forgot to mention that I played the battle through to the end of round 2 in the event that you want the hit assigned to the A/C.

      If you decide to take the hit on the tact bomber then I’ll roll an additional dice for the A/C in round 2 before continuing the battle. (The tact bomber missed anyway so it won’t effect the battle).

      Might have made an error here so wanted to check with you for OOL.

      I attacked SZ26 with 1 Battleship and 3 subs. You’re defending with an A/C, I tact bomb and 1 fighter.

      1st round of attack:
      US:
      3 subs all missed.
      Battleship hit for 1. This is where I think I got it wrong. TripleA assigned the hit to the A/C. However after I clicked it I realised that if you take the damage on the A/C then your planes have nowhere to land and are doomed regardless of the result.

      Would you prefer I put the hit onto the tact bomber?

      Yeah, scramble both of the fighters. They’re doomed but I think it’ll be a better net result for me with them there.

      I once again didn’t consider the possibilty of you bringing in units from Japan. It just seems so far away that I never consider it.

      Fwiw; that wasn’t meant to be a trap. I played the UK turn about 4 hours after I did the US and had forgotten they were there. Nothing I write here will be a deliberate attempt to mislead.

      Regarding Gibraltor; I ran the attack through the tripleA battle sim with 20,000 iterations and it was apparently an 86% chance to be successful. So even with all of the units attacking on a 1 I still should have won it. However, now that I might not lose those ships I’m not so annoyed at it all.

      Well, that was an interesting turn.

      Firstly, if you want to roll some dice in the forum for the Caroline Islands then feel free to and then we can edit the results in before Japan’s next turn. You listed the attack in your original post so it’s clear you just missed it when transferring across.

      I think the loss of the US fleet is going to seal the fate in the pacific. If I had taken a lot of your ships down with me then maybe it wouldn’t be over but it was so one sided that I’m not sure how the US is meant to get back into it.

      I thought I might still have a hope in Europe though until the dice did what they did in Gibraltar. 3 inf and a mech inf with 1 bombard Vs 1inf and 1art. I recommend having a look at the rolls. Wowee they were bad. The loss of the units is not so bad, however the plan was to take Gibraltor which would close the straits for Italy’s turn. However after losing my UK ships are sitting there ripe for the picking.

      And in case you’re wondering why I sent a fighter, tact bomber and strat bomber all to a single transport; I forgot you couldn’t scramble without an airfield.

      In good news I’m learning a fair bit from this game, however the bad news is that you are giving me an absolute thrashing.

      It’s probably not going to make much of a difference really and really depends on what type of hits you get in the first round. But keep him until after the cruisers are gone.

      I had seen most of this but clearly missed the additional fighters coming in from Japan that swung it from a (close to) even fight to heavily in your favour.
