@JHendrix112 I third Mr. Bowser on that. While I never got to see Der Kuenstler’s content, I would look forward to see what he made in the past! I watch new & old content regarding Axis and Allies all of the time, so it would be nice to see what he brought to the table all those years ago. Hopefully he’ll upload his content again by using Bowser’s email!

RE: Armistice: Yay or Nay?posted in Axis & Allies 1914
@Screamer I already did to an extent, but to answer it directly:
Even if Russia used its large Moscovian force to liberate Ukraine, it could probably seal it faster then if they just stood in Moscow. First off, forces in Galicia and later Tatarstan could recontest the territory, and the attack would either be halted or expelled by the next turn. If the Russians sent a large amount of units to Ukraine, German forces in Belarus would wreck the now sparse capital territory (the russians wouldn’t be able to continuously produce, as their capital is contested). The Central Powers just have too much of a lead on units for the attack to switch the tides of the war unless a literal miracle happens.
Not to mention, there are too many Austrian units in Tatarstan to encircle without that encirclement immediately breaking on the Austrian turn. There are not nearly enough Entente units to strongly defend against 30 Infantry, 18 Artillery, and 2 Planes (from what I can see) in every surrounding territory.

RE: Armistice: Yay or Nay?posted in Axis & Allies 1914
@Screamer If you mean the entire Entente surrendering, it all really depends on the state of the rest of the board. From what I can see, this game looks won for the Central Powers, as the stack in Belgium looks just big enough to overwhelm France. The Ottomans haven’t fallen yet according to Romania, as the Ottomans really just need a couple territories to stay a viable threat. British reinforcements really can’t save Russia at this point, as Austro-Hungarian forces are just too powerful to stop in Tatarstan. While I can’t see the Southern Front, I doubt Italy is wiping the floor with Austria.
Despite the Entente likely lasting several more turns after this one, the end result wouldn’t pan out to the Entente’s advantage. Even without the Armistice, this would almost certainly be a Central Powers Victory.
Yay

RE: New Support Tier?posted in Website/Forum Discussion
@djensen You could also possibly make support tiers based ons playable A&A nations that could display as country tags. For example, here is a mockup of a French country tag.

Just a neat idea if you’re considering to add more tiers. You could also do the same thing with game pieces if you wanted to.

@Elrood Oh nooooooooooooooooo!
These bots are going to have a field day! :(((((( -
RE: Slow Loginposted in Website/Forum Discussion
@Elrood Very true, I wouldn’t put it past Winnie’s China to raid sites to keep certain events out of their narrative, even if the method is extremely flawed and invasive.
-
RE: Slow Loginposted in Website/Forum Discussion
@Elrood Not only that, it’s always the Kuomintang instead of the CCP. The CCP has never been in Axis & Allies before, and while there are good reasons for this, Chinese Bots consider this unforgivable.
;)

RE: Slow Loginposted in Website/Forum Discussion
@djensen I wonder why Chinese bots are so interested in this site? I haven’t experienced any issues today thankfully…

RE: Custom Battle Board AA50posted in Customizations
@Titus Adding outlines definitely add clarity from an otherwise dark battle board. Should look great when you’re finished!
Though, the dark red outline to the black text over a bright tan background looks a bit weird. Maybe just a slight darkening of the tan and a lighting of the red outline would do the trick?

RE: Custom IPC/NO Chartsposted in Customizations
@Titus Looks great! I have a quick question though, I noticed one of Italy’s national objectives is to control Morocco, Algeria, and Libya. Morocco and Algeria are German cores and both Italy + Germany are on the same faction. Is it simply unit control or something else? Very nice work though!
-
RE: Custom Battle Board AA50posted in Customizations
@Titus This looks really good! I like that you added pairings and researchable units, strange they didn’t have those already on the battle board…
I’m glad you went the extra mile! I look forward to your future projects.

@Chris-WWII-Invicta-Rex Hello Chris, and welcome to the forums! Your game seems very interesting! Perhaps you wouldn’t mind giving more details about your game such as the Kickstarter page, a lower res map, or a rulebook?
I hope you have a great stay at the forums!

RE: Celebrating 25 Yearsposted in Website/Forum Discussion
@djensen I see what you did there.
I hope you don’t mind me asking, but what do you think of my ideas? Some are harder to implement than others, but I’m still curious. -
RE: Celebrating 25 Yearsposted in Website/Forum Discussion
@djensen All of them seem interesting, as long as you get AI summaries to work properly, Apple sort of made that feature look bad. Here are some ideas to consider:
-
Dynamic Forum Icons: Many Icons on the forums are just speech bubbles, which takes away some of the identity of the games. Instead, you could have each icon sort of represent the games. (North Africa could have a silhouette of Libya and Egypt, Anniversary could have a 25th or 40th, etc.)
-
“Pinned” Categories: What I mean by this is that users can right-click categories and “pin” them to the top of the forum page. The reason why the pinning is air quoted is because it would only show up on that users end (If I “pinned” a category, only I could see it).
-
Themes: While it could just be light and dark mode, I think it would be cool to have ones based off of Axis and Allies games. For example, 1984 Classic would have almost like that 80s paint style, 1914 could have the gradient of the map over a tan background and have trenches and gas masks at the bottom. This is just another thing that would add flavor.
I hope you consider these additions!

RE: Anniversary Second Editionposted in House Rules
@Faramir Even though I feel there should be some small units in Sub-saharan Africa and Madagascar, I guess I understand not including them to keep it similar to the original. I’ll have to try your rules out when I get the chance to see how it plays.
-
RE: Anniversary Second Editionposted in House Rules
@Faramir Wasn’t French Equatorial Africa controlled by the Free French? Also, I’m not sure how to feel about the new Axis sub-saharan territories not having any units. While they were significantly weaker than their British counterparts, there should still be some combat down there. Here’s some suggestions for these territories (Not playtested yet, so you may want to run a few rounds with these changes and modify them as you go.):
GERMANY 1941 (36 IPCS):
- French West Africa: 1 Infantry, Control Marker
- French Madagascar: 1 Infantry, Control Marker
- SZ 32: 1 Submarine (Possibly Japanese)
ITALY 1941 (11 IPCS):
- Italian East Africa: 1 Artillery or 2 Infantry, Control Marker
BRITAIN 1941 (40 IPCS):
- French Equatorial Africa: 2 Infantry
- Rhodesia: 2 Infantry or 1 Artillery
- Anglo-Egyptian Sudan: 1 Infantry
- Belgian Congo: 1 Infantry or 1 Artillery
- SZ 27: 1 Destroyer, 1 Transport Ship
GERMANY 1942 (39 IPCS):
- French West Africa: 1 Infantry or empty, Control Marker
- French Madagascar: 1 Infantry, Control Marker
BRITAIN 1942 (29 IPCS):
- French Equatorial Africa: 2 Infantry or 1 Infantry (Depending on French West Africa’s setup)
- Italian East Africa: 1 Infantry
- SZ 32: 1 Destroyer, 1 Transport (carrying 2 Infantry and 1 Artillery, or 3 Infantry
These are just some small suggestions for a more accurate/entertaining Sub-Saharan Africa. Other than this, your rulebook seems very well thought out! I’ll try it out when I get the chance. Good job!
