    • RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)

      @Channel_Three

      Here you can download TripleA (https://triplea-game.org/) which is a program that allows you to play online, trough pbem or just local (vs AI or friends that come over, without having to actually put up the board, fast and easy gameplay). I dont think you’ll find many players that are willing to play like you suggest, but hopefully for you there are some around. I suggest you try online gaming tough, because there is always someone around that is ready to play at any given time of the day.

      I hope you have fun playing and learn lots of new strategies and such. Btw with that program you can play almost any game there is available on the A&A genre and also other games like NWO, Domination, LOTR and much more. Good luck and have fun!

      @magnum

      I read you only play ftf games? Have you ever heard of Triplea? This is a pc program which offers you a lot of gameplay. Like for instance play by email or trough this forum or even online (which seems like you are playing ftf if your friend and you join the same room (bot). This program also makes life much easier for you. I read you use a Excel sheet, well this program does everything for you. Keeping track of purchase phase, combat movement, combat, non combat movement etc.

      I really suggest you download it and try it out. You can find the program here:

    • RE: TripleA AI thoughts

      @josh-lucky13

      I remember that old computer game, fun to play when there was no one around to play the boardgame with, but like you say it was very easy to beat the AI.

      The AI in this program is better, it also has different settings as you’ve probably seen. But playing vs a human opponent, especially online, will boost your skill level exponentially.

      Personally I think you might like the Global 40 second edition. This game is the next generation of A&A boardgames. It has a lot of new features and even politics.

      Well good luck and have fun playing. Perhaps we will play each other one day.

      @Bismillah

      You are very welcome!! Always nice to have some fresh blood joining the online community. Just a headsup, the computer is fun to play, but youll soon find out that there is much to learn as you play vs online gamers. Most of them are very experienced. The best of luck and have fun playing.

      Lol, I know. Its not that I am not working on it. I think I am working too much on it. Already had 6 different scenario’s tested. Its still in progress. Sometimes its the purchase that I dont feel happy with, the other time its the movement or placement. So I hope you can be patient with me. Wanted to make a decission this weekend, but feel I need a little bit more time.

    • RE: TripleA AI thoughts

      @barnee

      I meant that that you can choose between ‘does nothing AI’ to ‘Easy’, ‘Fast’ and ‘Hard AI’. I also meant what @redrum mentioned that you can give extra money (or units) to the AI nations to make it more interesting and harder to play vs the AI in general.

      The only way to improve the AI in my opinion would be making it self aware, so it will learn from playing vs a human opponent, and improve itself by doing so. I guess there are already good computer programs (chess) that are beating human opponents, even chessmasters. So to be fair there is hope for A&A fans around the globe ;)

      P.S.
      “Making it self aware might be dangerous, and we might get a SKYNET (terminator) situation on our hand ;)”

      @schaps @chiller001

      You can also download TripleA. This program allows you to play local (vs computer) or trough PBEM (play by email) or online (large community). Lots of A&A games, for example: classic, revised, europe, pacific, global etc. But also other games like NWO or LOTR (lord of the rings) etc.

      The link where you can download this program: https://triplea-game.org/

      I think once you guys are settled in online, youll not have to be afraid of not finding a opponent anymore, because there are lots of players each day and every hour.
