    • What happened to section 14.4.5?

In the latest rules I have, this section about internal French conflict is missing. It is, however, still on the Vichy reference sheet. I don’t see anywhere in the errata that says it should be deleted from the rules.

Should we assume this is an editing error, and play the rules as they used to be written, and still are on the reference sheet?

    • RE: Latin America Expansion Heavily Favors The US?

@mike141500 That is only one feature of the expansion. I believe it favors the Axis, overall, but not enough to consider it necessarily unbalanced.

    • RE: Peacetime Income Increases via D6+3 Instead of D12

More random peacetime increases equals less scripting, and more game to game variance. I like it just as it is, personally.

    • Which shipyard is that capital ship at?!?

As my memory storage is full of movie quotes, I am hard pressed to remember where I am building my own ships. No chance I’ll remember everyone else’s. This is most often important for the multi-coastal US, multi-seazone and shipyard UK, and French boats still on the production chart.

Does anyone have any tips, tricks, player aids or ideas for how to designate which shipyard is producing which capital ship?

    • RE: The FAQ Thread

May advanced self-propelled artillery, and Katyushas, move one space, and then make an attrition attack on an adjacent territory? I dont see in the rules either that they may, or may not, move before performing an attrition attack.

I’d think they could, but slow moving advanced artillery could not. What say you?

    • RE: Do the Chinese lose their money when you take their capitols?

In my opinion, Shensi and Nanking are the capitals of the CCP and KMT, respectively. They lose their on hand IPP, when they lose their capital.

The fact that so many of us missed this, doesn’t change that it seems quite clear, in the rules. Our group has adjusted our current game, and will play by the written rules, until we find out there is some exception relating to China.

    • RE: The FAQ Thread

@nicbot23 Not allowed. Just as the rule reads, Italy must be the one declaring war. That aggression would justify it. In your example they have shown no aggression to justify a British declaration of war.

    • RE: Chinese bug(not Covid)

@generalhandgrenade That sounds familiar, and I thought I was familiar with the rule book(s), but I can’t find that rule. Would you, or someone else, please point me to the rule that requires an attack, not just a declaration of war?

    • RE: Chinese bug(not Covid)

@Chris_Henry I wonder if you ever got clarification on your question? Can the FEC declare war on the CCP(once the conditions are met), and align all neutral warlords to KMT?

It seems like it is allowed. A powerful tool to be mindful of, if so!

    • RE: Tought on diplomacy france, GB, poland and Germany

@jan-aerts Germany is the aggressor. They just invaded one of their neighbors, Belgium. One of their other neighbors, Poland, is alarmed by that, and joins the Allies. I don’t see a problem with the rule.

    • RE: Terrain movement restrictions

@generalhandgrenade thank you for the confirmation. It sounds like we were all playing it the correct way.

As we look forward to V4, and try to iron out the wrinkles even more, I think the confusion of the movement paragraph is that it reads “when subject to mountain rules”, rather than simply “when subject to mountains”, or “when moving in mountainous terrain”, for examples.

The fact that the movement paragraph says “when subject to mountain rules”, and our only definition of when they are subject to mountain rules is in the above paragraph about combat, leaves it unnecessarily confusing, in my opinion.

Thank you for the feedback, everyone, keep up the great work, and have fun!

    • RE: Chinese bug(not Covid)

@chris_henry @GeneralHandGrenade Yunnan was a bad example. I should have said Kwangtung. But, it sounds like the warlords are semi-autonomous members of KMT, not minor powers. Thank you for the clarification!

    • RE: Terrain movement restrictions

@chris_henry that is how we have always played it, too, but I don’t see that in the rules.

    • RE: Chinese bug(not Covid)

@chris_henry if FEC are allowed to attack the CCP, I don’t see why FEC couldn’t attack a warlord. As stated, it’s an attack on all of China. If the game developers don’t want interference in the Chinese Civil War, similar to the Spanish Civil War, the rules should say so…with any exceptions listed. Japan, USSR, etc.

    • Chinese bug(not Covid)

      FEC, turn 1.
Attacks Yunnan, turning all warlords KMT.
      KMT, turn 1.
      Already a major power.

My buddy noticed this, yesterday, and we didn’t allow it, but don’t see where it’s prohibited, in the rules. Yes, it costs the Allies $16, but that’s a small price to pay.

    • RE: Terrain movement restrictions

“Movement: All land units (except cavalry) have their movement reduced to 1 when subject to Mountain rules.”

When are they subject to Mountain rules?

“Units are subject to Mountain rules on the first round of combat when crossing a mountain border and on all combat rounds in a mountain zone.”

    • Terrain movement restrictions

The rules only state that certain terrain, limits certain movement, during combat. Is that accurate, or are we to assume those same movement restrictions during non-combat?

      1.8 Mountains [Optional Rule]:
Units are subject to Mountain rules on the first round of combat when crossing a mountain border and on all combat rounds in a mountain zone.

Movement: All land units (except cavalry) have their movement reduced to 1 when subject to Mountain rules.

    • RE: War time income

@generalhandgrenade Could this answer/description be put in the errata, or, at least, the FAQ? The USSR does not go to full income when they declare war on a major, so it’s not safe to assume the FEC and ANZAC will. It should be in the rules, if that’s how the designers want it to be played.

I asked this question, yesterday, and just found this thread, today.
