    • RE: Pacific 1940 - Limited Edition or not?

      That’s about $500 if you don’t preorder!

      @questioneer:

      I will buy 3 P40s, 3 E40s and 2 AA50s when the reprint comes out.

      I already have 2 AA50s and 3 AA42s.

      I suggest that you buy at least 2 of every game since reprints take forever and you’ll need the extra pieces and such anyway.

      Nice, small file, easy to use!

      Now I know a submarine has a 50%/50% of winning/losing against a cruiser!

      @gtg21:

      First real post here - even though I’ve been a longtime reader of these boards (and an even longertime player of AA)…

      But I can’t seem to find an odds calculator for AA50.  Does anyone have a link to a good one?  Apologies if there’s already a thread on this somewhere else.

      Try this one:

      I’m looking at the chart now and no inf in Algeria.  There a lot of territories in Europe without any units.

      @Aretaku:

      I don’t have my chart on hand, but I’m pretty sure the AA Europe setup is missing a German INF in Algeria.

      Cool!!!  Wow, I wonder what kind of damage the Abrams could do going that fast!!!

      @Upside-down_Turtle:

      Yeah, I saw that show.  It’s partially what inspired this thread.

      Tom Clancy said the Abrams can go 70+mph w/o a governor.  Is that really true?  It’s a lot higher than the “official” stats.

      Man, 70+ tons going 70+mph…that’s a load going fast!  It’s faster than the Leopard’s “official” top speed.  However, it’s suposidly ad risk of destroying the drive train, but if that’s true, couldn’t you just somehow make it stronger?  I’m no mechanic, but I’m sure it could be done.

      A 70 mph tank would kick @$$!  :-D

      It used to be free. Can’t come around to paying for something that used to be free.

      @Zhukov44:

      Basically, on the plus side the PBEM is no longer done through Facebook, but instead is available on the GameTableOnline page.

      On the negative side, games now cost 27 cents per game.

      I think the convenience (much less effort involved than say PBF here or TripleA PBEM) is worth the price–we’ll see how many agree.  The application is still imperfect alas.

    • RE: What if I dont want to do it larrys way?

      @maverick_76:

      If you think of it this way, Germany took territory that basically was double the size of Germany. And they were still about 100 Km from Moscow when the winter hit. Depending on how many territories Larry wants to put in between, I would say 3-6 territories in a straight shot from Berlin to Moscow. The distance is about 900 miles, so 3-6 seems like a good number, and allows Germany to be at Russia’s capital within 2 to 3 turns.

      Wouldn’t it be similar to Axis and Allies Anniversary?

      I think anti-aircraft guns are indestructible like industrial complexes (but I think you can lose anti-aircraft guns if it’s sunk on a transport).  The anti-aircraft guns are subject to capture, like industrial complexes so I don’t think it can be killed.

      As for bombing, you don’t lose IPC only the production capacity but you need to pay 1 IPC per damage to remove the damage.

      Regis, that is my final answer.
