Your numbers don’t lie but many of the countries in A&A have multiple enemies that need to use the seas. How are you gonna take out a naval fleet or unprotected transports with tanks or AA guns? That is another importance of an airforce.

RE: The Big Egypt gambit (long)posted in Axis & Allies Classic
Maybe I was exaggerating about a bomber fleet with Great Britain, but I think Great Britain should assist the US in bombing out Germany. I like to have two bombers with GB and use them until they have all succumbed to AA fire.
Just think of it, three to four straight turns of the US and GB bombing out Germany. This will have very good results for the Allies. It also depends if GB purchases an IC in India; then it would be hard to allocate funds for a bomber “fleet” when you are also sending troops to Karelia and India. -

What I like to do with Great Britain is to build a large bomber fleet to cripple Germany economically and to build a large transport fleet to funnel troops into Karelia.

RE: The Big Egypt gambit (long)posted in Axis & Allies Classic
Why does Great Britain have to worry about taking back Africa and investing tons of IPC’s into it? The US can throw many more forces into Africa on turn two, more so than any IC that Great Britain purchases. Let the US handle Africa.

The tanks turn is over, since it has already engaged in a battle.

Leoncour was playing Axis and Allies Europe. Hence, the AA gun in Stalingrad to protect the IC.

All the world is a stage and it was the United States’ turn to shine like a beacon to it.

This house rule takes away the unpredictability of A&A, which makes the game great.

Long, rambling postsposted in General Discussion
Who is tired with these type of posts that go on and on? It’s nice to hear what people have to say but some of these posts just go on forever and most of the stuff being said is regurgitated facts. Can we try to be concise? I’m not trying to be a smart a$$ but some of these posts are a bit inane. Any comments.

Can anyone out there give me any reviews for this boardgame. It sounds interesting but I don’t want to spend the bread on it if it sucks. Thanks.

RE: German Strat: Invade Englandposted in Axis & Allies Europe
I remember your past post and I was not an advocate of the strategy. Now, I kind of see what that fleet can do for Germany. However, not only does this purchase screws up England’s first turn purchase, it also affects Germany. Germany is now one turn down in purchasing inf., tanks, ect for the Eastern Front. And if the invasion of England does not work out, you are left with a bunch of transports that are useless, except for an attack onto Leningrad, which would then be pretty obvious to the Allies.

RE: In our game Germany ALWAYS wins- help usposted in Axis & Allies Europe
A follow up, Russia has tremendous firepower in terms of tanks, airforce, and whatever it gets from the Allies. It should not be put to waste in some sort of stack defense, that does nothing.

The ‘stack defense’ is for uncreative strategists who do not know how to create a strong delaying defense.
