      Here are some pictures of the game. I took them approximately once a round, after the US turn. I was playing the UK. The reduced income and factor production really hits hard in this game: being able to build only one unit in India per turn was frustrating, and I was careless and lose undefended transports and even my fighters in the Caucuses because the Japanese player decided to attack it using his carrier fighters (and thus abandon his navy to be killed by the US).

      The Russian player lost her capital to Germany due to this 2-front pressure (and the fact that the US was mainly focused against Japan), and after that happened, the German player used her units to start mopping up Eurasia. The US player tried invading Japan once, but he lost, with one Japanese fighter surviving. At the end of the game, when it was approaching midnight, he decided to try a last desperate invasion of Japan, but it was easily repelled, and so an Axis victory was declared.

      Now, I’m not sure if I would conclude that the Axis have the advantage in this game, but I certainly think that it’s harder for the Allies to play optimally and they have to be more careful and fight cooperatively.

      @Battling:

      When is this alpha nonsense going to be finalized. It’s making my head spin. Will this be the official setup for all 3 games ?

      It will be done when it’s done.  It will either be the official setup or an alternate setup, for all three games.

      I haven’t ever bought Navy as Russia…everything Russia needs to do can be done without a Navy. Given time I would pour some troops into China to slow Japan down. As for builds I build a mix of guys tanks and atrilley for the guys. And depending on the situation if Germany doesn’t attack turn 4 I would strongly consider attacking them.  Also I put my guys and aterilly on the border with Germany and put my tanks one back so that I can move them up with the attack if I get to attack first but also so I don’t lose them if Germany attacks first. Honestly every turn that Germany doesn’t attack is a gift to Russia because it allows them to build up more forces which makes them tougher to take.

      I’ve seen Sea lion work and not work,  it depends on a lot of things like your opening round rolls.
        I’ve also seen where it works,  and Barbarossa works too in the same game
        Opening round rolls made a big difference in the second game yesterday, The Axis got hurt early and couldn’t recover.
        In every game It’s important for Germany to eliminate the royal Navy. Stay strong with their Navy and air force to thwart off any threat of an Allied invasion, and hurt Russia and push on to their capital and get as much money as possible

      @jim010:

      [You can’t block the G3 London attack.

      If you get luck and survive with some UK ships, then you could stand in front of the Germans.  But I doubt it would prevent the Germans from pushing through - and that scenario wil not be the norm.  Likely you won’t have any ships in range except for the Gibraltar fleet.
      [/quote]

      Oh no? It happened in the game I played last night. Germany got crappy dice rolling and the UK player took a bunch of risks, managed to take down the German AirForce. That really changed the game and made it pretty much impossible for Germany to invade England. Amazing though Germany managed to sneak a fleet across into Mexico and distracted America for another 2 turns defending itself. It was decided after bad rolling in Russia that the allies would win out even with Amercia distracted and the game was called an allied victory.

      For my Pacific (Europe/Global soon too) I used some velcro.  A local craft store sells self-stick rolls that are 2" wide (and 25’ long!).

      I cut the ‘hooks’ side down the middle (so there are 2 1" wide strips - leave the loops side 2" wide though) and I stuck three strips (about 10" long each to allow for the folds) on the back of each adjoining edge of the map.

      I left plastic backing on the loops side and now I simply press the board pieces into place (like you used to do with floor mats in gym class).  The map is held together (both side-to-side and up/down) until you WANT it to come apart!
