I’ve been trying to figure out the Russian fighter sculpts in 42.2, Anniversary, and Global 1st and 2nd editions. According to different sources (G40.2 rulebook, HBG), the Yak-1, Yak-3, and MiG-3 have all been represented. Is this the case, or are they all Yak-3’s?

RE: HBG - Axis & Allies Parts/Accessories and Custom Piece Sets Store!posted in Marketplace
I’m thinking of buying the Amerika game as well as some of the custom battle sculpts, as well as a few 3D printed pieces. How long do they usually take to ship? Do the 3D printed pieces take longer?

Can the transport escape to 114 in combat and transport troops internally in noncombat?

@CWO:
Another apparent difference: in the original Anniversary, Germany and Italy both had a Hipper-class cruiser with a transom (square) stern. Italy still does in the reprint, but Germany has the newer version of the Hipper-class cruiser, which has a cruiser (pointed) stern.
Did Germany historically have one with a transom stern and one without?

They said there are 4 new sculpts (i.e., different from the old Anniversary). It seems like they are the Russian battleship, cruiser, and destroyer, as well as the American fighter.

There’s an exception to the rule that allows the Japanese to load transports in a sea zone that was just made hostile by a DOW by Japan that turn.

@Baron:
Is it a Yak in russian color?
Or do you meant a Yak paint in Italian color?It’s a Yak in Russian color, identical to the 12 fighters in the Russian bag.

RE: [House Rules] Bid Amount?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Yes, National Objectives are in Anniversary. In fact, this was the game to introduce them as far as I’m aware.
Yes, but are they optional?

RE: [House Rules] Bid Amount?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Hmm, maybe it’s different based on NO’s? Are NO’s optional in this game?

Grad school is going well, though I have a big oral exam soon.
Interesting, I heard on some unboxing video that 42 was more balanced than 41…

[House Rules] Bid Amount?posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
I’m going to get the Anniversary Edition soon, and I was wondering how much the bid is for each scenario. Are they both Axis-favored like G40 and 42?

RE: Anniversary Edition purchased in Florida today!posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Japanese controlled Chinese territories have a Chinese roundel, so if any of the Big Three recapture them, they’re returned to China instead of being occupied by an ally.

RE: Anniversary Edition purchased in Florida today!posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
Looks like 2 Japanese-occupied Chinese territories changed roundels (Kiangsu and Manchuria).

Does Russia really have less income? Don’t they have an NO that gives them the 9 IPC’s from the missing Siberian territories?
