    • RE: Anniversary Italian Tanks

      @Erocco:

      Contact HBG and ask them if they are going to start selling Anniversary single units soon. They do it for every other A&A game I don’t see why they wouldn’t for Anniversary.

      I already asked them that and they said “we hope to.” But I don’t know how long it will take for them to become available…

      @GeneralHandGrenade:

      Tough to get someone to sell you 4-6 of those when you only get 6 with the whole game.

      These are the tanks I have but sorry I’m not looking to part with the one you are looking for;

      Yeah, I was hoping that maybe someone bought more than 1 copy of Anniversary.

      Yes, the Italian tank with the tiny gun is the one I want.

      The Italian tank shown here is not what I want: http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/M1542-Tank–Italy-Europe-1940-2nd-Ed_p_1032.html

      Is anyone willing to sell me some Italian tanks from Anniversary (different from those in G40)? I’d like to buy 4-6 and am willing to pay a few dollars per tank.

    • RE: How long does it take for Kickstarter to take money from an account?

      @Midnight_Reaper:

      Kickstarter takes your money after the funding period is over. This is because some projects do not make their funding target. When that happens, Kickstarter does not charge anybody.

      In this case, War Room ends in 5 days. So, Kickstarter will charge the backers in 5 days: on Friday, 8 December.

      -Midnight_Reaper

      To be nitpicky, the kickstarter actually ends at 11:59 PM EST on December 8, so it’s possible you’ll be charged on December 9 instead if it’s not quick enough.

      @bgugs:

      They look awesome. I am trying to do almost the exact same order but am trying to break it down by nation to spread the cost out over time (I am a college student so money is tight right now)

      Yeah, the costs can certainly pile up, especially since HBG has stopped selling some of the sets, forcing you to buy 5 of each piece at a higher price per piece.

    • RE: [Global 1940] Research and Technology

      @Caesar:

      We just do each victory city conversion gets one free technology roll and don’t both with the Research part of it so every time a new flag flies over a city, you get a roll and if two nations are battling over it, you have to accept the fact you’re getting tech rolls as well as your enemy.

      So you give the Axis even more of an advantage than they already have?

      I meant that 1942 w/o NO in Anniversary is balanced and 1942.2 is unbalanced in the Axis’ favor.

      @Ichabod:

      @Young:

      Give the Americans a battleship off Washington and a battleship off Honolulu… That’s my quick solution for G40 balance.

      Have you ever play tested that?

      I know you’ve said that your group doesn’t like any kinds of bids that affect the Axis opening moves any way.

      Giving stuff to the US doesn’t really affect the Axis opening moves.

      @Caesar:

      @calvinhobbesliker:

      This is one of the few aspects of the game that is historical: the western allied navies never entered the Baltic.

      That’s a lie, USSR operated combat operations in the Baltic.

      I said WESTERN allied navies.

    • RE: Is there currently an average bid(or even a bid) in G40 2nd edition

      @taamvan:

      Yes!  2016 tourney G42 the other table the axis had UK and the allies had Japan and Axis still won, I believe.

      I should clarify that I do not mean that I think either Japan or Germany can be invaded, Rome is very difficult if Germany helps.    Both major Axis capitals would take many turns to wear down, I’ve never taken either over in a game that wasn’t a blowout…if ever…maybe in our very first games.

      But Japan’s economy can be defeated, if all the Allies work together in lockstep.  Falling into the J1 plan makes it easy for them.

      Why does J1 make it easier to defeat Japan?

    • RE: Has 42.2 been superseded by Anniversary?

      Hmm, why is 1942 quicker to play? Is it just because it’s 5 players instead of 6+China?

    • Has 42.2 been superseded by Anniversary?

      Now that the Anniversary Edition is back in print, is there any reason to play 1942 2nd edition instead? It seems that at least one scenario of AA50 is mostly balanced, and 1942 is heavily Axis-favored. AA50 also has Italy and China as well as very good tech rules.
