As I said :
I scored with 44% as either Mussolini or Ceausescu…
How on earth did you all get such high percentages ?
I scored with 44% as either Mussolini or Ceausescu…
(damn, should have given zero points to that Roman Empire question )
I remember having read an article by David Kahn about it. It was in a book called “what if…” edited by Robert Cowley.
Unfortunately I can’t seem to remember anything about the content of this article. I see if I find this book somewhere in my house…
The thing that always annoyed me when playing D-Day was that city of St. Lo. It’s just one space apart from the german reinforcement lines and all the germans need to do is to get some connected lines to that city with a lot of artillery in it. Then you can fight for St. Lo endlessly and even 1 small infantry that’s left in round 9 is enough to defeat the Allies.
… forum i’ve founded it in another, and another guy say: “i made this!”
Can you tell me which forum that was ?
I’ve uploaded the newest version of the deluxe map Spring1942. Look at the end of this thread :
http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=15816.15
and don’t forget the Europe1940 map.

And I agree that giving credits would be nice out of sheer politeness.
Forgot to mention : In case you might want to have a look

I don’t want to be a gravedigger of dead threads but today I saw a link to a site where someone put together all AA Maps to download and print them on your own.
I saw that he listed two of my old AA1942 maps so I thought it would be nice if that someone ( seems like he is Italian ) got the newest version of the map.
So here is AA1942 Deluxe Map
http://www.filesonic.com/file/2518982501/AA1942_DeluxeMap_v1_04+.pdf
This time it’s a one file PDF which should be no problem because the newest Adobe Reader has an option to print it on several pages.
Enjoy.
No problem, let the Americans send in Agent Blazkowicz and we’ll be fine…
Not too sure. I remember visiting the Normandy and the french used to call it “le jour - j” with a j like jour.
Strange, I didn’t delete anything. I upload it again and post it here soon.
I filled my gaps concerning that Doolittle guy but I found Japan’s answer to the raid far more interesting. Balloon bombs ? Sounds more like in a SF movie than a real WW2 story.
btw : Is there a way to play AAE1940 by EMail right now ?
Your games sounds like an interesting match right from the OOB rules. This is my experience as well. So why is everyone so keen on using alpha rules ? ( I just started Europe one month ago, so are there any cheap victories with OOB ? )
A little off-topic : Is there a dice server for Europe1940 ?
British and the Commonwealth 63%
Italy 56%
United States 50%
I’m a little confused about Italy and about statements in that quiz like " a soldier’s death is a beautiful death. " :?
I still haven’t figured out why people use alpha rules for AAE1940 at all. Are the OOB rules broken or is there something wrong with them ?
That seems strange to me. What are your games like ? What are the Allies and Germany doing ?
Doolittle ? Never heard of him before but he’s the one behind the Union Jack.
I’m still not sure about the japanese admiral.
Could be Yamamoto but this guy Yamada ( http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USMC/USMC-M-Marshalls/img/USMC-M-Marshalls-p31.jpg ) comes close too.
( It’s 100% Yamamoto on the Pacific 1940 box though )
Shall we move on to the Pacific, Europe or Anniversary boxes then ?
Das Boot is an all-time classic which I use in my classes to show the students the effect of water pressure.
