      Seriously, your best bet to get this fantastic version of the game is to download the maps that IL has made and have it printed out.  Combine that with the wonderful player made setup-charts.

      Then, buy yourself 2 copies of AA Spring 1942.

      Take the Germans from one copy, spray them brown for Italy (Start with several light coats of Krylon fusion primer followed by several light coats of Krylon fusion brown).

      Viola, you have yourself AA 50th Anniversary Edition.

      Finding one for cheap any more is going to be ridiculously hard with it having been a limited production.

      Where can I find “the maps that IL has made”?
      Are these something that can be printed and then laminated?
      I too love this game and cannot find a copy for a resonable price.
      I like the idea of making the italians by painting them.  I’m just not sure where to get a copy of the actual map.
      any help or links would be greatly appreciated.
      thanks in advance.

      @Butcher:

      In the rulebook, it says that China is allowed to attack Japanese forces in and occupy Burma and Kwangtung. Does this also mean that they can non-combat move infantry and/or the Flying Tigers into either territory? Thanks.

      Yes.

      @Frontovik:

      but not sure you can place new units in those territories

      You can mobilize new Chinese units in any territory that China controls.  China can only control Burma or Kwangtung if it captures them from Japan while India is held by Japan.

      If you build an AC or 2 transports on G1, the allies can both buy air and sink you unified navy in sz7 on UK2 and US2. If you really want to mess with the Allies in the Atlantic, you might want to try one of the following strategies (though they do come at a cost):

      bid a sub in sz8 and kill the sz2 navy on G1 (you can combine this with a naval purchase on G1 and foregoing Egypt, sending the sz 14 fleet to sz 13, if you have the nerve) Buy something like bomber, fig, 5 inf or bomber, 8 inf and move your navy to sz 7 (add the sub in sz 8 or a possible bid unit for added effect). Because of the extra bomber, the UK will be hard-pressed to unify in sz 8 and hitting 5+ units in sz 7 is not really attractive either.

      Be aggressive as Russia but not too much so, Move all infantry in the east westward because those territories are not very valuable and Japan will just slaughter you if they want to.  build at least one or tow more fighters and a Tech a turn.  You gotta figure that all the units Russia begins the game with are as good as dead already.

      If you’re gonna setup for anything, setup to give yourself thr maximum amount of options.

      Group the bulk of your armor in EPL,

      from here you are always in the possible position of blitzing KAR, CAU, and RUS.  Not to mention if you can keep enough units coming, always able to keep your 2nd NO.

      This puts the russians in very awkward positions, he cant lose his little battles, or he’s exposed, and he has to defend all of his factories at the same time, with a stack equal to your stack.

      This also means then that more of his infantry are forced to attack, and then exposed to overwelhming counter attack (if you can spare a fgt or bmb or 2) in which you usually come out a few IPCS ahead.

      Couple this with Italian support, and you can punch holes for your German armor all day long.

      even if dice turn bad for you, and you never get an open break for a factory in the east. you’ve managed to keep the war that much farther away from Berlin, for that much longer.
