RE: UK industrial complex in Egyptposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Thanks for all your responses. You’ve given me some food for thought. It seems that building transports to ferry land units around the board is a better buy unless Germany screws up G1. Even then an IC in Egypt might be unnecessary. From studying the board to it looks like if they are well used the start up units in Alexandria/Egypt should be able to hold for a round or maybe 2 if used right.

RE: USA KICKS EVERYONE'S ASS!posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
dont major IC’s make 10 units a turn. I thought that rule about IC’s being limited to the IPC value of the territory they are in didnt apply in this game.

UK industrial complex in Egyptposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hi all. I’m preparing for my first global game this weekend and I was wondering if putting an IC in Egypt was a good idea. I am thinking that if the Allies do that then it would stop Italy from running amok in Africa and would free up the UK carrier fleet in sz 91 to go back and help stop sealion. Has anyone tried this and if so what were the results. I’m worried that by spending the IPC’s on an IC and then subsequent land units that I’ll be making a successful sealion more likely. What are your thoughts?

Its in the back of the Europe Rule book under Global rules. I think its on the second page of the global rules under additional rules.

hmmmm while I agree that the US will be able to do about any single operation they want I think the tough choices will be when the US has to do more than one operation. I think it will be a question of priorities.

RE: New transport and storage system in the worksposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Maybe the could make foam trays that fit inside the storage boxes that come with the game. Kind of like the storage trays that came with AA Classic.

ah so this is what you mean by double sided roundels… call me slow but I was never quite sure what that meant. That sounds like a top idea to me.

RE: Idea to keep the developers (and WotC) busy and paid.posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I agree. This is a great idea especially the part about being able to buy all units seperately. That way if you wanted plastic IC’s or AA guns you could have them. If you wanted paper IPC’s you could have them too.

RE: Couple of questionsposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
No I think you misunderstood. When attacking Gibraltar from Africa (as you originally asked) you would need to attack over sea using transports. If you were coming through Spain you could just use land units.

RE: Limited run??Axis & Allies Europe 1940posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I think the Europe and Pacific games will do well. Since I’ve bought mine and showed them to some friends I’m finding people get really interested. I’ve lent out my copy of revised so someone can learn to play the game and another friend who has play Axis and Allies before went out and bought Europe after we played Friday night.

We have our first global game this weekend too and we’ve split the countries the same way. I hope it works out.

I would have to put global if this poll was taken today. As it is I choose Revised. I still think revised is great and a good game to start new players on.

RE: Any good ideas for keeping units seperatedposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Docfav…. Just checked out the FMG war chest. It looks AMAZING!!! pity about the price tag though. Do you also have a dice tower? If so how well does it work? I typically play my games in a somewhat confined space and that looks like something that will limit the spaced needed to roll the dice and eliminate the risk of a stray dice going nuclear on the board and wiping out a bunch of units.

Any good ideas for keeping units seperatedposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I was just wondering if there were any good ideas out there for keeping the AAP40 and the AAE40 units seperate. I know this will not even matter to alot of people but I’m a little OCD in this regard. I’d like to be able to keep the units that came with pacific seperate from the units that came with europe so that I could play the individual games as well.

Yeah that is a nice thing. Allworkandnoclay could have really used that with P40.

RE: Are Tech Dice back to only one roll per 5 IPCs spent?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Personally I prefer the system in revised. I think its much better to choose what your trying to develop. I mean how often would scientists be trying to develop super subs and accidentally come up with heavy bomber?!

RE: Which territory do you live in?posted in General Discussion
So far, I’m the only one who lives on the Pacific board
I currently live in Western US territory. However I born, raised and up until 6 years ago lived in the Anzac territory of New Zealand. I’m doubly pacific.
