RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
sigh I am continually amazed by my inability to realize or conceptualize the relative strengths of sea and/or air force. I had assumed that my little armada in Iwo Jima was safe as long as your navy couldn’t get at it. It never occurred to me that your air force alone could wipe it out so efficiently. It makes sense and is obvious once it happens, but gosh it is frustrating. I know I’m still learning, but it is still frustrating.
no turn to post, sleep first.

By the three horned god that haunts the dark corners of my soul! Why is it that I have game-posting problems.
Pisses me right the hell off. -
RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Whenever I try to post from the game it says “missing refresh header after login” - any clues? I tried googling, but no help. Anyway, here’s the next for you.

And again, I forget to attach the game….

yup, carrier gone…but at least you’re done with Kamikaze…small consolation I suppose.
Italy is all yours.“Now River, stay behind the others. If there’s fighting, you drop to the floor and run away. It’s okay to leave them to die.”

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Thanks for the redo and I have mixed feelings about the kamikaze….now it will be my fault when the carrier (probably) goes down and then I hear the splashed afterwards :-(
poor fellers.

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Hey there,
Favor: I had meant to take out a transport with the fighter in Phillipines and completely spaced it in that previous saved game. Would you mind if I go ahead and do that? Here’s a new version of the saved game with that attack in place. Let me know if I run the suicide attacks or if you’ll be posting a saved game after potentially nuking that carrier….and I’m assuming the planes since there isn’t anywhere for them to land…you bastard ;-) -
RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
I’ll probably call since I want the answer soon, but in case you see this first: Did you have a saved game with the results of your sake-soaked-suicidal-soldiers or should I just run it with them coming at my carrier on my machine?

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
OK, it was a nice distraction after working on the JDT powerpoint - looking forward to working on it tomorrow some more.
So, how does the etiquette work on your kamikaze attack option? I have some ships available for your kamikaze pleasure. I went ahead and saved the attached game at the point of your kamikaze choice. Let me know if there is an easier/better way.

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Hey there,
I am, not surprisingly, confused. I read in the rules that the US can’t go to war against the axis until the beginning of PU collect phase of turn 3. However, TripleA asks if I want to declare war during the politics phase and then it lets me do combat against Japan. Is this a glitch in TripleA or am I confused on some other front?
Thanks,

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
It is frustrating being constrained by politics.
Inara: “It sounds like the sort of thing this crew can handle. I can’t guarantee they’ll handle it particularly well, but-”
Nandi: “If they got guns, and brains at all…”
Inara: “They have guns.” -
RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Thanks - not a big deal, but a curiosity. I’m to bed, but if there’s a turn done by the morning I’ll try to reciprocate.

Alright Germany. Have your fun.
“Oh! That was bracing. They don’t like it when you shoot at them. I worked that out myself.”

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Question for you: If during non-combat a transport picks up a unit and moves one sea zone then drops the unit on an island, should that transport have 1 movement left? TripleA says no, but I was curious if this was accurate….

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
oops, apparently I hadn’t attached the file. Maybe thats why you haven’t taken your turn yet!

Here ya go. Having lots of fun thoughts for the next game :-)

RE: Stalingradski (Axis) vs Brown Coat (Allies) G40A3
Here ya go. Something you probably already realized, but I hadn’t thought of: The reason you don’t want to use the internal dice server with a person you don’t absolutely trust is that they could just re-run battles until they get the result they want.
Question: I thought I had already declared war on Mongolia (like, when I invaded) but at the start of this russian turn it gave me the option to declare war….which I did. Is that just a formality or does the declaration itself have some meaning?
