Now that my indomitable son-- lover of the color blue and therefore of France, bless his mistaken heart-- has worked his way up to playing Anniversary with me, I’m finally going to tackle the addition of France and therefore the creation of a plausible 1940 setup.

Project Philosophy:
Placate my child: get blue units and TTs on the map, however inconsequential they may be Remain loosely tethered to historical reality K.I.S.S.
Project has three areas of focus:
France-related map updates France-related rules updates Neutrals updates
Visual updates:
For France we need… erm… France, so:
– Recolor & roundel France
– Split, recolor & roundel Syria off from Trans-Jordan
– Recolor & roundel (and perhaps split?) French African colonies & protectorates
– Adjust Burma borders and split/Recolor & roundel French Indo-China Thailand Other updates:
– Fix wonky Germany & Poland geography
Rules updates:
Need simple rules for the inexorable fall of Paris. I like GW36’s dieroll mechanic wherein you roll for TTs and individual ships to see whast happens. Rolling Dice is Fun!™ Create simple Vichy vs. Free French rules wherein Germany commands Vichy and the UK commands the F.F. the same way the US commands China.
Neutrals updates:
Assign Neutral TTs IPC values on map Create Neutrals rules similar to G40 but simpler:
– Pro-Allies
– Pro-Axis
– True “neutrals” you always have to fight to invade (including factionally divided TTs like Spain). Maybe also have to pay a fee like ye olde days.
Finally, TT unit setup details. Going to take a some time.
