      GaryBlaZe,

Nice job. When AA50 came out, I was really fed up one day and thought ( thinking this was the last AA game for a long while…how stupid was i to think, but not dissapointed more game came out ) how to make piece’s better.

*I put tiny magnets to all land units, so when those being transported, it can actualy stick to the transporter so you can move the loaded transporter with units NOT falling off…

*I put tiny magnets on the aircraftcarriers and fighters, same reason as transporters.

*We painted the Italians navy/land and air force because it was so hard to see the colour being so simular to UK I think, one of the nations anyways.

For this game we have re printed out the Aircraft movemant markers as why this vital part of the game has stopped being included is redic. Not remembering, or to solve other players confusion on where your plane origianly came from is so important.

One thing you possibily have missed out is the 6 Zone markers, like in Old Pacific and revised AA games to save over-crowding in a teritory/sea zone. Again, another thing missing and vital in built up overloaded SZ, and territoriy.

But it makes gaming better with stood out playing pieces and easy playing, but you can live around with what’s provided too.

Nice pictures and thanks for your input for us all!

    • RE: So, whats the best options for Japan?

I agree…put your chin up, walk away and when you are ready for your next game, you will remember your mistakes, maybe read a good few of these topics too.

Bad dice is a pain fighing against you, expecialy if your enemy player is gloating at there luck in your dice roll…had it done to me and it is the worse to sink your head, and then game over cos you are not really into the game. It’s called Hard Luck!

    • RE: What if mechanized infantry could tow an artillery piece

Well, I don’t know why really the purpose of the Mec Infr in this game, meaning I don’t know why Larry didn’t keep the same rules as he did for Battle of the Buldge, cos the trucks in this Pacific game don’t carry anything, seems pointless, except supporting power to tanks and men ( like arti gun does ).
It would be more exciting having your Mec Infr more usful, pay more for them for a reason to transport land units further, just like transporters, supported with tanks say it’s no free hit ( like subs on transporters/destroyers rule ).

    • RE: Questions about DEI political situation.

Maybe Larry is trying to change the game and by doing this is by mudderling up the old way to help the new way as Wild Bill said.

I would hope that when Europe 40 is out, all the muddle-up-ness is clear and alot of the Dutch and political situation is understood.
You have to think however, if a new person just getting into the game of AA just picked up this game and never knew of the internet and excpecialy sites like this, would those players be as muddled up as we all seem to be by reading the rule book?

I have a question which could happen…( kinda going off topic with DEI…but still politics…! ). If Japan somehow manages to take San Fran on US Western State, the US doesn’t hand over the money to Japan ( unlike previous AA games ) correct…?
so what would the IPC value be for Japan at the collect income stage…10 or 50?

    • RE: China

I do follow history and playing games based on history too helps fiction to facts! I haven’t heard a better explanation about the Political page in the rules than from your comment Kcdzim!

Just for you to finish up then, can you answer the reasoning of who takes the Dutch/French islands/land first related to who attacks first…?

I see it as it’s open territories for any nation to take:

if UK takes Sumatra and Java, us takes Celebes, Japan takes Dutch New Guinea and French Indo China at the beginning rounds where no battle has taken place by anyone:

      UK gets 8 extra ipc’s, us 3 ipc’s, Japan 2 ipc’s.

So what is the big deal about Dutch New Guinea, is it a concearn who gets it first…having no ipc value even tho you can build air/navy…( Indus unit as well…? ) on any island reguardless once owned.

This could change the game for me explaining to rules to new players, and others reading!

      Thanks, Bravehart.

    • RE: What is the UK to do

      Interesting on the Dice… a shame…!

This game will all come down to Japn keeping hold of Tokyo now I think in my practice game, as dice roll hasn’t gone well at all in China, nore in US coastal waters by NOT deflaiting the us boats.
UK strong Inft and added fighters will capture Hong Kong forcing Japan to retreat back to Tokyo waiting for the Americans…
In Australia, land and Navy is getting stronger. Japan could split the navy as still based on Hawaii, but it’s a battle of fait for Japan.

In India, the UK has now got alot of transporters supported with Battleships and Destroyers hoping to help US take Tokyo with Bombardmant using men on transporters.

I am sure Vareel, when I play a real game ( not by myself ) the UK will be in trouble and Japan will break through to India!

    • RE: China

I thought so thenorthman, you can’t not help out to strengthen your weaker allie, so unless someone states you CAN’T do that, I will play you can, as in UK support China by entering China territories…in real war, would you really do this ( not support another friedly allie )…??

Japan is up against China, UK, US an ANZAC, what’s the politics…??!

    • RE: What is the UK to do

All on a good dice roll for you…that’s the key!!

My practice round I have by myself is that so far Japan just retreated an attack against China by NOT getting the Buama Road. Meanwhile the UK has built up strong on land and now is about to tackle the attack against Japan to try to slim the mountains of fighters/tac bombers Japan has brough down from Tokyo and transporters with men.

Simular to Uncle Joe, Japan went for Hawaii, and in range after a few rounds building up the navy ( buying a miner Indus ) but leaving Sydney out of range so the ANZAC now have a pretty good navy and land so Japan attacking Australia will be hard.

If UK gets to Hong Kong to re capture it from Japan, UK will hope that the US will be built up enough and defeat the Hawaiien sea’s of Japan, and move upto Japan to take on Tokyo with UK back up.

One good dice roll with Japan on land getting China in Burma road would of been almost game over, but fortunatly for the Allies it wasn’t Japans day.

I think Japan will win the Chinease and get India.

      BH

By the way, anyone got those fancy dice…think I will wait till Europe comes out this year in case they up grade the dice again with the other new possible powers…!

    • RE: China

So for the UK to get Hong Kong back and to possibily support the americans when they attack tokyo in the future moves, ( presantly Japan has hong kong, french indo french, kwangsi and siam on that coastal area), the uk has to either:

      a) use transporters to goto Hong Kong, or

      b) go via french indo china to attack through kwangsi.

Can the allies re take Siam…? Or is that why in sence the Uk can avoid going through Siam cos how the map is created. Surly the UK would want to get an extra 2 ipc’s from Japan…?

It’s not wrong for japan and uk to comit to war is it, cos China will need support eventualy to prevent Japan getting through to Burma road. Understand the pollitical rules, but really, does it matter taking concequences and chances…!!!

Just chasing options, as I am trying out possibilities before we all play as a group!

      Quick question on China,

Can the UK move into China to help support China, and other allies do the same, or MUST everyone keep out of China except Japan…?

      Thanks, Bravehart
