All the money that is not spent in a single round is saved for subsequent rounds. you can create some imaginative (but rarely good) stratgies by saving up some cash from one or more rounds and buying a huge force.

So, every last one of us can be boiled down to whether or not we are evil?

RE: The Drafting of Womenposted in General Discussion
Israel does not want them to be captured and subjected to horrible torture which would happen if taken by the Arabs since in Arab countries women are second to men and the Arab interrogators would do terrible things to women such as rape them for example.
I think you’re pretty lucky that, to my knowledge, there are no arabs on these boards. Most Arab nations are quite modern and have adapted western ideas of gender equality. I like how we’ve demonized most of that part of the world as barbaric and backwards in our propoganda.

@cystic:
There is something in my consciousness that says that it would be a disgrace to have a woman die in the field of battle. The sight of a woman dying on a battle field would stir the consciousness of a nation, at least one of chauvenistic males like me, to fight against this occurrance.
As disgusting the thought of women lying dead on the battlefield is to me, I think men doing the same would trigger a very similar reaction. I think it’s simply a matter of desenitization; in the various forms of media, from actual footage, to photographs, to war movies, we have grown accustomed to the idea of men dieing in battle and not women.

Maybe we don’t need so many big, useless, expensive things like aircraft carriers. Do we really need big floating slabs of metal with missile targets painted on them? seriously, how long are these things going to last in an all out war?

If you’re starting the game in 1914, as I imagine you are, then maybe the US should be given the option of choosing sides too. It would be more accurate, to some degree there were many in the US who wanted to join the war on the side of the central powers.

TG’s quite correct. Someplace in the rules (I’m geussing the general area of the victory conditions) it states that Japan may win by caturing any allied capital except Szechwan and holding it for a turn.

RE: Easy to kick the Russians out of Moscow!posted in Axis & Allies Classic
I’ve found it a little harder to capture Karelia as Germany than you make it seem, and by taking the Caucasus the Russians can easily wipe out anything that might remain. Then, what if the US decides to pressure Germany, as they often do? This creates a serious dilema for Germany; should they press the offensive in Russia or bolster their defenses to counter the ever increasing horde of Americans being massed in the UK?

I’m up for it, unless the friend of mine who actually owns the games decides he needs to remove it from my house before then; I wouldn’t count on that happening though.

All the errata sheets and replacement pages are included in the full colour and easy to use (well, sort of) second edition. Do I sound like a walking advertisement to anyone else?
