Righto, as long as you or any of your allies have owned a territory since the begining of your turn you can land planes there.

RE: How to spend 12 IPCsposted in Axis & Allies Europe
With the Allies I like to buy some infantry for the UK. I usually put them in Eygpt with one or two reinforcing Malta (I really don’t like losing Malta). As Germany I like mixing it up, sometimes buying an other transport or maybe infanry, perhaps even a fighter if the particular stratagy I’m using calls for it.

Of course Germany could to the same thing by just keeping an extra infantry in Germany each turn. It would cost the Germans more but the Japanese would get a little more cash.

RE: What rules or options make the game FAIR?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
I agree on the Russia restricted issue, king tiger. I believe it’s unneccisary and sometimes fatal for the Russians. I’ve only ever seen the 2nd edition rules so I don’t really know what the others are like.

RE: German Opening Move (w/RR and 2HBS)posted in Axis & Allies Classic
Yes, king tiger, I think at least for the first few turns it is important to build your defensive might while using hit and fade tactics to keep the Germans low on infantry (thereby preventing an attack). Then I slowly build tanks and offensive units to take the weakened territorys. It seems to work fairly well, even if the Americans aren’t coming.

RE: 1st turn Japanese attack on Hawaiiposted in Axis & Allies Classic
Indeed, I also like to kill the british transport if he is foolish enough to come within range of my sub. This is why as Britian I consider trying to move the Austrailians in the first round or two pure folly.

RE: Russia's First Moveposted in Axis & Allies Classic
why would the German playertry to take out something that causes virtually no threat to him when there are much more valuable targets to take out? I would only go after a russian fleet in the Baltic only if 1) I had nothing better to do with my airforce, or 2)I was planing an extensive naval campaign in the Atlantic.

RE: Radical U.S. First Turn Optionposted in Axis & Allies Classic
I think the US should be an offensive tool. If the Germans go hard after Russia the US can usually land troops in W. Europe creating a two front war for Germany. Two front war=death (in most cases).

RE: USA IC IN FINLAND?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
Might be interesting, I don’t know never tried it. I think transporting troops into europe might be more efficient than building then there though. You would need transports anyway to make your attack against Germany very quick (without them your offensive would be stalled for about 3 or more turns). Ya ne znayoo (translation: I don’t know)

RE: Can allies win?posted in Axis & Allies Classic
I would like to know who in the wide, wide world of A&A players would let their opponent amass that many troops. 250 infantry!! 60 tanks!! There’s no way that would be going on in any game of mine.

RE: Wow i had a quick gameposted in Axis & Allies Classic
it’s generally a good idea tohave your best players play the axis, especially if you’re relativly new to the game. This kind of forces the other players to get their game up to par in order to beat the better ones, then they could try the axis.

RE: Pacific Glitch?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific
I think it would be foolhardy to try to take all your fighters inland before destroying at least part of the US fleet; it’s almoust as large as Japan’s and with the US’s income could rip Japan to shreds while India buys infantry to hold out. China doesn’t really matter that much, it bogs Japan down way too much to be of any value to them.

RE: What to use vs tanksposted in General Discussion
Then they take devistating losses and, more than likely, will never regain their offensive force. Always attack with sufficeint infanry to absorb hits from the battle and the near inevitable counter-attack

RE: The Game is brokenposted in Axis & Allies Classic
Because the original has some very unique problems buildt into itthat none of the other games have. Plus it’s for five players in case you get that many together.

No problem Anonymous dude, nothing like helping new players get into the game.

RE: When you attack…posted in Axis & Allies Classic
quite right greensleeves. You must attack all of the enemy units in the territory (or not attack at all). What you hit is completly up to the defender.

RE: My board is so crowded!posted in General Discussion
I also found the board to be extremely crowded when I fist got the game. Then I figure out that a unit doesn’t really have to be completly in the most crowded territorys (as long you can tell where it is) this seems to create a lot more room, but I wouldn’t recomend it untill you’ve played many times.

RE: A few more ?sposted in Axis & Allies Classic
Yes, tanks and infantry can shoot down planes. The defender/attacker chooses any unit as a casualty. Hope you enjoy the game.

RE: One more ? and im doneposted in Axis & Allies Classic
If the attacker hits with any unit, the defenders chooses the appropriate number of units and moves them behind the casualty line. The defender then rolls for his units; the attacker then chooses the appropriate number of casualties (from any of his units, just like the defender) and removes them from play. The defender then removes his casualties.
