      @Gargantua:

      Well the Geneva convention better not apply if we end up at war with China…

      They could just simply “surrender” and we wouldn’t have enough housing to keep them, the ability to feed them, or the ability to guard them.

      At all.

      And the only hope the western powers would actually have of winning, would involve biological warfare.

      I’d rather we lost then it came to that.

      There’s a certain amount of truth to that MrMalachiCrunch……, something so crazy it might work.

      @Bolt-Action:

      I’m 15 and the only reason I haven’t bought any of the games yet is beucase the ones people say are good (Global, Revised, AA50), are sio riducously expensive now.

      If you can only afford $20-30 you could get Spring 1942.  I recommended it to a 14 year old student of mine and he bought it.  It’s as good a buy as any of the other games, considering it’s a lot cheaper.  If you can’t afford more than $30 it’s really your only good option

      I can afford it, but I’m not sure I want to spend 200$ or so on a board game.

      @Cromwell_Dude:

         I’m not really optimistic that the younger generation will play 1941 when they enjoy the touch apps on a SmartPhone, let alone the dumbing down of our culture.   With that said, I am very interested to see if this younger generation bites and enjoys the game.  I hope so.   It would be interesting to see the age demographics of people playing Axis and Allies online.  Â

      I’ve never played Axis and allies (just miniatures) and never played it online, so if someone has some patience I’m willing to give it a go. :P

      How is it not a fair comparison? We aren’t  talking about a year or two ago, we are talking about why its more popular now. I don’t really see your point……

      Bunnies, that analogy was a bit confusing. Are you comparing China or the US to the fat homicidal woman with the eating disorder?

      Exactly, they weren’t a labor force, that was my point as to being unique.

      Excellent :)
      Can’t do the Mr Burns impression on here but you get the idea. My suggestion would be to get the Play by Post  Section running, but i don’t know exactly why it was shut down so there might be a problem I’m unaware of.

      There forum has a lot more support for minis then A&A.org does, and more activity as a result. Whereas A&A.org has one (forum? whatever you call one line in the index) for AAM original  and one for W@S they have an entire(sub index?) for each and one for angels twenty. the Play by Post section there is functional and lively, as opposed to the either dead or shutdown section here, its impossible to tell, and the people are very friendly and helpful (Thanks Rebel :) ) as a whole, I’m not saying they aren’t here but it is  very noticable there.

      That man of the year thing is interesting, I assume it was in fact in 1938 though.

      @Epiphany:

      So if  people want to argue that Hitler was somehow some crazed madman who wanted to kill or remove groups of peoples from his lands and that this was somehow unique and unheard of… It just isn’t accurate.

      Do attrocities need to be unique? And besides, I would call extermination camps on that scale unique.

    • RE: What if the Axis won the War?

      Of course the Allies are controversial, I hope we can al accept that, but there a difference between a blockade( which I am NOT supporting obviously) against an enemy country and the proposed and partially implemented wiping of inferior races from the planet. And I think we’ve all gotten  a bit off topic here.

    • RE: What if the Axis won the War?

      I agree with Bunnies completely except on one point. The reason I said Hitler wasn’t completely sane, although I did not say he was Insane( there is a fine line) was because he initiated a massive genocide. Say what you will about Churchill or Roosevelt, they never came close to that. In my opinion (stress on the opinion!!!) the desire to rid the world of “inferior”  races is not the product of a healthy mind.

    • RE: New axis and allies

      The WWIII idea is what I was thinking too, but it might have to be a three faction war, since China and Russia together would completely overwhelm US/NATO.
