      @Bob_A_Mickelson:

      I’ve been looking to add these custom IPC poker chips to spruce up my game, however they are quite expensive.

      http://iwillnevergrowup.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50

      How many poker chips do I need for global 1940? Will I need more than one set? What is your guys experience?

      Thanks in advance.

      I have the set too… I also found the default set a bit short… if I’m not mistaken, I have the default set, two sets of the 25IPC add-ons, and I custom-ordered an extra ten 10IPC chips (as mentioned by others, contact IWNGU directly to get IPCs in a non-set fashion, as I did by ordering extra 10IPC chips).

      Bottom line, I was happy with the number of 1s and 5s in the default set, but needed more 10s, and got two sets of the 25s.

      HBG has expansion sets for every power. I got a set for Germany and one for UK, and some extra chips including green ones to represent 3 units, and i haven’t had any issues.

      When I say stacks I mean more than 10 units on each side.

      A force that plans on attacking in a fashion that puts the enemy in a position where them attacking on their turn would be bad because they have too few artillery for offensive support.

      @z0m4d:

      These are pretty sweet!  Any motivation to do one adjusted for the different national objectives in the 2nd edition?

      I concur!  These are the best I’ve found and the NO board is fantastic!  I’d love to see these updated for the 2nd Ed.!  Exclamation point!

      HAHA big whoop for you.  At least YOU get to display a .gif avatar, the rest of us only get crappy .jpgs now.  Not even fair, we couldn’t display something like this even if we wanted to.  More like gloating that you can display it while we peons can’t.

      Don’t listen to this guy Bob, he’s just butthurt that they outlawed tortilla throwing in Lubbock.

      Thanks for the comprehendsive explanation.  As to where I have been in the past 8 months or 8 years for that matter is playing in AA revised in a small pool of players in a small backwaters town in Canada.  I joined this site about 2 months ago and having thought AA Pac,Euro, revised were the ONLY 3 flavours until Spring 42 came out.  It has been a suprise to see all the versions and new concepts (NOs, new techs etc, neutral powers).  It also seems I am beeing schooled on Spring 42 by fleetwood dan much to my chagrin.  I have much to learn!

      Egypt is divided into Tobruk and Alexandria. Sudan is a 3rd territory

      Good, Egypt in the Europe version was too easy to take with the Germans, at least with this they will make it tougher to blitz through to the Middle East so fast.

      If Italy can get through.

      I started a new thread so with all of the finished charts bundled into one pack along with screenshots of the finished product. This thread was getting a bit too long and i was concerned that it would be hard to find the latest versions of my charts. The versions of my charts in this form will be deleted in the coming days so check out the new thread.  Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

      If you destroy 12 IPCs as Japan the US is down to 38 or so. If Japan keeps up with the US Navy builds it seems like that would keep the Japanese on a pretty even playing field with the US.

      If you want to make sure the carrier will sink you will need to use all 6 Kamikazes on that same carrier. In that case I think it is more rational to use the Kamikaze on cruisers. Attack a cruiser with two kamikazes and you might sink a 12 IPC unit. Even an 8 IPC destroyer is a better target than a carrier.

      @Bob_A_Mickelson:

      I’m a bit confused as to why Kamikazes were included in this game. I realize that they add historical flavor and were included because AAP had them but they seem to be unnecessary.

      I kind of like them.  They’re by no means a game changer, but since you don’t have to burn a plane, it’s like a free shot, so I don’t see how they’re a liability.

      kinda like a lot of the china specific rules

      When I first opened this Christmas night, I almost dreaded playing after trying to decipher all of the China rules.  After the first play, though, I think they add to the strategy.  I’m just a casual player, but each time I play AAP40, I like it even more!

      Interesting to see how it affects the Atlantic war; I’ve always believed there should be a “killing zone” in mid-ocean which is out of range for land-based aircraft, but will the sea be wide enough?

      i think more people would buy tac-bombers if it didn’t need another unit with it to have that 4 attack
      i always thought it should just be a plain 4/3/4/11 unit, no conditions

      @Fishmoto37:

      I AGREE. The cardboard may take up less space but they are too hard to see with plastic chips and units stacked all around. @Bob_A_Mickelson:

      I must say that I cant get over my disappointment that the new A&A Pacific and Europe 1940 games will now feature cardboard units for the Major and Minor industrial complexes as well as cardboard AA guns, Air and Navy bases. I hope that creating plastic versions of these units will be a project that FMG will be willing to take up in the future.
      Do any of you agree?

      Yes another good reason that I hate cardboard.

      Most cards that come with the units for both versions (1 & 2) have been revised.  Print the revised cards and everthing is playable together.

      A good amount of units from version 1 have been re-released in version 2.  There was no scale for vehicles in V1, some units are almost the same as V2, some are wayyyyyy smaller.

      V2 has bigger hexes to hold the larger size vehicles but both version’s maps work.

      There are several different rules, I suggest to print the new ones, they are alot different.

      Here’s a good idea, buy a starter set so you can get maps and counters.  Download and print the revised cards (most of the cards that come with the minis have been revised).  Print the current rules and give it a shot without using any actual units.  Gameplay is 1 hour time limit… at least you’ll get a couple of games played in one night.
