Oh dices…why have you forsaken me.

Re-match against John…re-result against John. Re-1st round dice against John.
To avoid fainting…keep repeating…it´s just a game…it´just a game.
Bjergmose (yours truly) played axis and lost. Lost 2 subs and a ftr against the Hood.
Lost 1 inf and 2 arm against 2 russian inf (attacked w/1 inf 5 arm). Lost 5 zeros in the pacific leaving the Indian transport to bug me.  :x
Game was over when;G4 luftwaffe attack US ac w/2 ftr protecting 3 UK trn. A win would give the Germans 2 rounds without invasion. 3 ftr 1 bmb = 0 hits. 1 ac 2 ftr = 3 hits.
GAME OVER  :cry:

Brian played axis against AE-rookies Jakob and AE-rookie Frank upgrading 2 more players to AE. Maybe a 7-man tournament next year? Judging by Brians outburts he didn´t have any luck. If there is one thing I can´t stand it is a axis-player who cries over his dicerolls  :wink:
I ran home before they finished so result is coming next time.

Last weeks REvised Frank took Tokyo ´cos Jakob forgot to place units in his capitol  :?

New club-record…7 man present thursday. Soon we´ll need a bigger place :-)

1 tournament game. John ruled 1st round axis against Bjergmose leaving the allies fighting up-hill. The germans took Caucasus 2nd round, never giving it back. Bjergmose managed to hang on for 8 rounds but Moscow fell. The allies tried a desperate attack against Italy but was easily repulsed.

Ghostglider (GER/IT) and Allan (JAP) teamed up against Brian, who came prepared for everything…except the annoying thing that the axis didn´t move according to Brians scheme  :lol:

New guys Frank and Jakob battled it out in Revised…they hadn´t finished when I left.

Back in business  :-D

After a looong time we managed to play another tournament game.
Last thursday we were 6 men present.

Jens ran over John in 3 short rounds annihilating the russians.

Bjergmose played a training game vs. Brian that wasn´t decided after 6 hrs.
No-one was willing to quit, so we might have to continue thursday.
Berlin was under pressure, but so was Moscow. We´ll see what the result will be.

Ghostglider teached newcomer Frank a lesson in Revised.

And now to something completely different.
On the 11th of october Ghostglider took his 2nd Danish Championship (Revised ed.)with John as runner-up. :-)
Luckily the wind now seems to be blowing in a new direction….AE50.

Training session thursday.

Brian played allies vs. John (GER/IT) and Bjergmose (JAP).

The japanese went all-in against the US 1st round having 4 trn w/8 ground units backed by 4 ftr´s on ac, but the US countered buying 2 ac and a ftr. The US now kept focus on the pacific but their threat slowly thinned out. This left the germans strong and the italians even stronger.  :-)
The germans brought down Moscow around round 6 securing the win.

The game between Ghostglider and Bjergmose that had to be postponed and finished yesterday ended with a small victory to Bjergmose. Unfortunately we had to reconstruct the game in our heads, as the room we play in had to be used for some other purpose during the week. After a lot of talking back-and-forth we agreed that it would most likely have ended with a minor victory in round 10 to Bjergmose.

Last night John smashed Ghostglider with his mighty axe(is)  :-o
The germans took Caucasus 2nd round and held it. 6 rounds and the allies were done.

Bjergmose played against the-god-of-dice´s secret son Brian  :-D
Brian played the allies securing a win in 8th round.
Normally I don´t cry because of bad luck with the dices…but yesterday people could follow me home…trail of tears  :cry:
Allies attack Berlin 4 inf 4 rt 3 ftr vs. 11 arm. 1st round 10 hits vs 3. D´oh.
Okay…no panic I can retake Berlin and hold it next round. And I still have a shot at Moscow held w/4 inf. All I need is to punch a hole in the russian perimeter.

Bmb vs. arm = no go
Okay italians then
Arm vs. arm = no go
2 inf vs. arm = no go.
I could go on all day…crying over lost battles…nah, Brian deserved it. He attacked when possible, and never let up.  8-)

I think Japan is crucial to the axis war effort. If they don´t perform to the max Germany
might have fallen before you can start trampling again. And I like a big navy with lotsa ways to go.

And in my current FTF game Japan is almost annihilated,  without Germany getting the upperhand in Russia. So they can be stopped.

Germany, Japan and Russia in that order.
Why…´cos that´s were the action is. :-D

We are currently playing with 13 VC to claim victory.
With tech and NO.
Must be decided after US moved 10th round.

Thursday evening battles;

Brian finally got a victory against John. Judging by the outbursts from their table Brian was blessed with divine dices  :-D or was John cursed?  :evil:
7 rounds and the axis ruled the world.

Bjergmose and Ghostglider clashed in their selftitled clash of the titans (titanic egos anyways  :roll:). Due to Ghostgliders long way home we have to finish this game next week. After 7 rounds Japan doesn´t have a navy and the chinese rules mainland Asia. Germany still hangs on and the Italians seems like the strongest part of the axis now. Looking forward to settle this once and for all….3 rounds to go.

Thursday Brian played against Ghostglider and lost in another close game.
Maybe it was the amount of beers that kept the game going  :-o

Monday night training camp  8-)
3 guys present. Bjergmose got last choice = allies.
Brian took control of GER/IT and Jens played JAPAN.
Short game. The Germans tried to bottle up the med with a factory in France.
But it left the Russians untamed and running wild. 2nd round the Red army had both NO´s and 4th round the Axis surrendered. To Brians defence he didn´t hit much…it is hard to win when you don´t kill any enemies  :roll:

In the not so distant future we are playing Thursdays…from next week.
Brian has to teach his wife-to-be some dance-moves  :-)

I think AE is superior in their details  :-)
But a lot of AE ship-bottoms (?) was uneven.

I have painted both revised and AE and when I look at ´42 they all
seem blurred.

Example;
the US bomber has some doors/hatches/whatever just behind the wings
and it is clear to see in AE but ´42 it is just a blur on the sides.

I don´t know if Capt.Kiwi bought ´42 and is reading this. Then I would like his opinion.
Or anyone else who has painted  :-)

It is not the end of the world I just don´t understand why.

The real difference for me is in the sculpts.
I don´t understand why they use the same sculpts, but they
aren´t as crisp and fine-cut as AE50.
Is there really any money-making in cutting that small corner?
I mean it´s obviously the same sculpt…why not do it right?

I thought I saw Ghostglider on his bike when my work was done…
but couldn´t believe it at nine o´clock.
Now I understand why he didn´t notice me…me was riding on a axis-coloured cloud :-D

On a different note…I´ll buy ´42 tomorrow just to see what´s what.

    Axis bought a factory but no one wanted to work there. And Graf Zeppelin turned out
    to be useless. Mother Russia swept thru´ europe all alone.
    Q:"Wasn´t it a gamble to go naval against Ghostglider?"
    Jens:“You have to gamble against Ghostglider…plan A isn´t good enough against him”
Brian vs. Bjergmose      1-2    (10-10)
    A large axis navy and a factory in France kept Germany alive to the end. But the
    russians could throw back the japanese with Germany struggling. Japanese factory in
    India turned British and backfired. So Bjergmose pulled a minor victory. 11 VC vs. 7.

Note to last week. The japanese thrown into the sea was in Asia…not Japan itself.

(i.e Uk conquers Rome. If not retaken when next UK turn then allies win)

    Phillipines.

    Rome and Berlin left. Last Japanese ground troops thrown in the sea. Lady Luck
    secretly in love with the allies  :-P Yamato sunk JAP01.

If more players will join us then there will be 2 groups with 3 each.
2 3-man groups equals 7 games. 4 in-group and 3 against the other group.

Scandinavian Open 09 has started.

So far there is 1 group in Copenhagen. Hopefully Oslo and Aalborg will join us.

1st game in the group was Brian vs. Ghostglider. Winner….Ghostglider, but Brian
sure kept Ghostglider on his toes. 3 points Ghostglider.

Bjergmose played a game vs. Jens (JAP) and John (GER/IT) and couldn´t hit s***  :-o
Some games are like that, and the fact that I do not enjoy playing the allies doesn´t help my game. Not yesterday anyways. But things will change when I enter the tournament next monday. No doubt about it.  :-D

Rules for the tournament, which will have it´s playoffs and finals last weekend of january in Copenhagen;

_"Scandinavian Open 2009

The winners from each group will proceed to the play-offs.
Depending final number of groups and players there will be a
number of play-off games and/or wild-card games.

Group-play;
Set-up; 1941 w/ National objectives
Everybody in a group will play each other twice.
Once as Axis and another as Allied.
The “home-team” will be Axis. No bidding.
The home-team will decide if Tech will be available.
The home-team will decide if optional rules will be used. Both will be used if chosen.
    Opt.1; Closed Dardanelles
    Opt.2; Fighter escorts/Interceptors

Winning;
All games 10 rounds maximum
Win with 13 VictoryCities (End round)
Winner will get 3 points…looser 0 points.
If 10 rounds with no winner, then V.C will be counted and;
a) Most V.C. will get 2 points
b) Fewest V.C. will get 1 point
If 10 rounds and 9 V.C´s each then each player will get 1 point.

In addition to the points, each game will be worth 20 points. This is to act as a tie-breaker.
If there is a clear winner a score will be given to the game.
  e.g; victory is achieved in round 7 the score will be 13-  7.
If no winner is found before round 10 the score will be 10-10.

Play-off;
Setup and so forth as in group-play.
Knock tournament pending final number of players/groups.
Bidding system. The bid will be written down. Bid on Axis.
No rounds limit as there will have to be a winner.
Seeding will be used. Again pending final number.

Cups or dice-towers MUST be used for the play-offs."_

Maybe loss of Capitol will end game 1 round after the aforementioned loss.
