      We cant play until we have the official fixes on 7.0. When do the special units arrive? When does Japan have to use their sneak attack? etc. Sheets say one thing, rules say another.

      Are you going to fix these again?

    • 7.0 Clarification

      Read the new rules twice. We really looking forward to playing again.  A few of the rule changes are DRASTIC but I need to play a few times to see how it works. It looks like the Axis don’t stand much of a chance now that Russia starts out with an extra 140 IPC’s of units/IPC’s but we need to play to confirm.

      One question - Japan has to use their sneak attack BEFORE turn 3? Is this a typo? Did you mean AFTER turn 3? or BEFORE turn 13? Turn 2 isn’t even mid 1940 let alone late 1941! Please clarify so we can play this tomorrow! Japan using their sneak attack before Germany/Italy even at war with Russia doesn’t make much sense so we just wanted to double check.

    • In defense of the designers

      I must defend the designers of this game in the sense that 75% of the rule clarifications asked for are actually already stated in the rules. I’m unsure how some can’t understand that but then again I deal in contract law. It’s only 10 - 20 questionable rule issues that make the game not playable.

    • Holland rules are a mess

      Holland rules are very difficult to understand. I hope they get fixed along with everything else. 1 of the Russian national advantages means the games is already over so it’s superfluous.

      I hope you keep the game like it is now where Germany/Italy don’t have to attack UK/France/Poland/etc. for the first few turns, but I doubt that was the intent of the designers. It’s a lot of fun seeing France as tough as Germany on the Western front in those scenarios.

      Hate to be a pest but we were told 2 months ago we would be getting the latest rule clarifications. We quit playing because we don’t know what the rules are. It’s the most fun AA game we’ve played but there are so many ways to interpret important issues we just gave up playing.

      It’s even possible to attack Russia 1st turn with Germany/Italy and UK/France not at war with Germany/Italy until Japan attacks UK. Of course UK attacks Japan ASAP when they see this. Those games were actually a couple of the best I’ve ever played, but who knows if that was the intent with the rules. I think it is? Axis won the first game in this scenario but only due to allied Atlantic naval overconfidence but that mistake never happened again. Moscow was dropped on Turn 6. Paris fell turn 13 or 14 and the game was over.

      Fixed Rules.

      When are the fixed rules coming? We quit playing because we couldn’t agree on interpretations. More clear cut rules would be better than game balance at this point.

      I also have a request but it’s not needed - coastal ships are too hard to keep track of. Is there any way to get rid of them besides house rules? We don’t like house rules but it can get hard to keep track of 5 different types of coastal ships in different areas.

      Someone asked about 25 questions on this, then they asked another 10 or so. You answered most (but not all) of all their questions, and nearly half of their questions were great because they were unclear in the rulebook. Therefore those need to be added to clarifications too.

      We’ve played 4 games so far. Axis almost won every time (always comes within 1 city). Ultimately, the Allies won 3 games, but I’m not sure we playing 100% as the designers intended due to rule interpretations. It sounds like the Axis win when everyone else plays so I’m unsure what is going on exactly. I have over 40 A&A games and have played 5 - 10 hours a week for 25 years so we are all experts at the game and see holes almost immediately. Assuming we are playing correctly - game balance seems pretty good.

      Ha. Yes, but it not as good as it was in 2007 - 2012. If it was I wouldn’t have the time to be on this board so it’s not all bad I guess.

      I can’t believe I’m one of those people that complain on message boards. Regardless, I’ve played this game more than once. I just don’t think a game should be released until the rules are clear. Game balance is secondary. Clear rules are what matter. I can’t even tell what the rules are exactly. No 7.0. Just fix what you got now. It’s been long enough. No one wants to play with house rules in most groups. We just want to play with clear rules. Don’t release anything new until this is fixed. I hope Amerika and Midway have better rules than this. Can’t wait until this fixed so we can start playing it again. It’s ridiculously fun until rule snags.

      I bought this game. It’s a blast. But instead of making new games/pieces PLEASE fix this game first. Why do people have to wait a month for answers to their questions? Fix the rules first so they are clear BEFORE making the game balanced. Some of the answers to questions are even unclear on here. The game is a blast but no longer playable because of rule misinterpretations. Please make rules clear BEFORE 7.0. I very frustrated sorry. I love the game, but some things need to be explained better.
