      The reason I don’t like 110 is, an experienced player would scramble the 3 fighters and cause tons of damage to aircraft, which will be desperately needed during the landing.

      then UK loses it’s biggest defence at 4, versus some german figs at 3. at the end (if both lose 3?) UK then has 2 (or 3, depending on gibraltar) fig left, while germans still has 7.

      I agree, Alpha 3 makes sea lion much harder, and probably ultimately a loser unless UK is totally inept.  This is too bad because now Germany’s only reliable strategy is to roll the USSR.  The USSR is and has always been far too weak in all versions of this game, and its defeat under concerted German attack is assured.  Thus the US has no choice but to rush the western European coast – no more KJF. Alpha 2 was better because it allowed for much more strategic variance, not just the rehash of the actual war which Alpha 3 is now forcing.

      The only way you are going to make the Axis more competitive in global under any version is to push out the entry of the USSR and US, say to turn 5 and 6 respectively.  Imagine what Germany could do with 2 extra turns in the Atlantic!  It maybe could even get some real forces into Africa.  Under the current time schedule, the margins are too tight and allow for no mistakes or side ventures.

      i completely agree! i’ve always wanted an african corps, but germany can never get enough men to africa on time (atleast round 3, if using Sfrance IC) and to them become quite usefull…

      Take your pick, in any case, eventually Russia is earning so much money that Germany cannot possibly beat it back at which point, the Russians start pushing the Japanese back and the Germans and hit the heartland of Europe.  Once you get there you are making more money than the United States of America at which point, you get REALLY bored and start dropping Aircraft Carriers and Battleships in SZ 100 to start signalling your opponent it’s time to give up so you can play again.

      Does syria count aswell then?
      say italians took it, and russia reconquers it?
      it’s a possible +4 then…

      Yes, it was just a joke.  I am just goofing around.  I don’t really think you or anyone else on the forum is really a communist.  If we were, we probably wouldn’t be playing this game.  It wouldn’t be considered productive for the state.

      So US is down for 4 rounds. afterwards, what territory should be their main goal? i used to assault normandy or south-france, because of the IC’s. Also thought of aiming at italians, who can break through egypt now. But then russians are hard pressed.
      perhaps they should land together with british in norway?

      the turn sequence of Alpha 3 is ideal for attacking with USA and reinforcing with UK INFs and FIGs

      edit: for me Africa is first priority (UK IPC’s + securing a front and Egypt, a VC), when that is settled i prefer to aim at Norway (NO bonus for Germany and a relatively safe spot to land, AND of course a place where USA can build an IC)

      by the time africa is decently secured, russia has fallen…

      i really like the supplies and logistic
      it’s from battle of the bulge?
      i replaced it largly in my game, i ment to keep it KISS ^^
      but i did make it so that only few cities have IC’s and there can only be landed on islands of territories with ports (greece, syria, albania) and sicily (which is connected to mainland).
      it’s very beautiful map
      but of course, my map is ment to be played with just select group and the lay-out and looks are secundairy :)

      German Balkans forces.
      tanks, mech, figs and tactical bombers can blitz: if they take territory in 1 round of combat, they can assault another territory (in this case greece/Griekenland). That’s the blitzkrieg al right :P
      but the planes still need to land, and the tanks + mechs cannot move more than 2 (as usual).
      remember all other combat moves are done and fought first.

      i finalle made a mediterannean campaign. don’t get your hopes up, it’s just home-made map on cartboard :P
      but i like it, and i’ll post some pics so you can discuss what you like or dislike, and perhaps i’ll inspire some ^^

      It starts 1940. there are 6 countries, Germany Italy on axis side, UK, france, Anzacs (also greece and yougoslavia) and after round 8 US.

      quick pick at Gibraltar
      the bunker takes 2 hits to die, and defends at 3.
      once destroyed, it can’t be rebuild, but it does repair itself at start of (british) round.
