      @Clyde85:

      All intresting stuff Frontovik, our maps sound similar, focusing on the important stuff. Our map dosnt really allow for convoy raiding A&A style per-say, though losing certian sea zones will hurt certian countries economically. Also our combat system focuses more on the artillery bombardment and that sort of stuff.

      We dont include the Russian revolution directly, again this is something we chose to handle in-directly. The goal of the game isnt so much to conquer your opponents and to win, but to make your opponents lose.

      many territories?

    • RE: USA IPC Bonus Question

      i’d say the fulfilled NO’s, which are and can only be+ 2: one of 10 and 5; so US gets 15 extra IPC?
      and in alpha 3; it’s with the paris NO?

    • RE: Sealion against UK A&A Europe1940

      kill UK navy, build max on transports round 2 (try to gain maximum cash, don’t know it normandy or s-france can be taken) and invade round 3. i think it’s most essential to take down british navy around england; some say canadian transport too (znd thus possible sacrificing a fighter)
      try to build G1 1 AC, and perhaps sub +transport/destroyer.

      @Frontovik:

      btw, how do you guys use cavalry in your games?

      I think my partner said it best “Their just F*****'s on horses right?”  :lol: so we went from, they have the same combat roll as starting infantry but can move 2 spaces an if they attack and survive to the end, they have an option to push threw into a bordering terittory if it is unoccupied by enemy troops. Also they have no artillery support options.
      @Frontovik:

      is western front a seperate map?

      No, the map I use is of Europe and the middle east (including all of saudi arabia and a few sea zones around it). I was thinking fornt specific maps might be a good idea but only after the “world” map and game are done.

      then i might give some ideas ^^
      my game map goes from portugal to ± moscow and kazachstan (very small and non-important)
      , and south norway to north africa.there are cavalry units (the mechs)
      also researchable(?) tank unit, with just 2 defence and 1 move (so a bull-dozer)
      there are many convoys along the coast (notoriously around ottoman middle-east territories, around north africa, and france; with 1 near Bremen. I also included the russian revolution; the russians have 5-6 victory cities. if 3 have fallen, the chinese inf join the axis; they can be placed everywhere: 1 inf every 2/3 territories.
      no railways, bombers are zeppelins, and transports cost 10.

    • RE: Italian Weapons in WW2

      @Gargantua:

      nope, problem lied especially in individual morale of the average infantry

      Not according to Rommel.  He had his complaints about their leadership in some areas, but certainly not their troops.

      I remember he was speaking about Aquila and Ariete division?
      the elite-italians were good (panzers, black shirts etc), but the average italian?
      rommel used a ‘corset’ at the battle of alamein; so placing german troops between italians, so they can look at the ‘good example’ instead or running.

    • RE: Does the US have enough production to win the war?

      i usually go full attack vs japan (unless sealion has occured)
      i send about 2 transports each round to africa, and perhaps small navy to keep italians down. what do the brits do in your game (expecially european)?

      @Spitfire38:

      @wwestpro:

      EDIT: I also noticed that the US no longer has the NO of +30 IPCs in wartime.  Is this a mistake?

      Yes, I would like to know the answer too… I often feel that the US are overpowered and it would be interesting to see what would happen without the 30 IPCs.

      they get less. i think US on average gets 50 in these games, 15 from boni, 35 from start?

    • RE: Best Turn #1 Purchases

      i like buying with germans 1 AC, 1 sub and 1 transport
      you save one, and you take south.france and the usual (not normandy) first round; then you have 70 for 10 new transports.

    • RE: Operation barbarossa

      @Hobbes:

      @Axistiger13:

      Choose your side(axis or allies) and your strategy

      Russians - one of the main factors concerning the success of Barbarossa was that Stalin actually believed that the Germans would not attack before 1942 and ignored the reports of the German build-up. The Soviet High Command also made a serious strategic mistake after the Soviet-German Pact by moving its armies from their prepared defensive positions to new areas on their now extended borders (E. Poland, Bessarabia, Baltic States) where they were vulnerable to an attack.
      I think it was 3 days before the German attack that a German deserter turned itself to the Soviets at the border and said the date of the German attack. Upon hearing the report, Stalin ordered him shot for spreading false rumours - imagine what could have happened if he had finally listened.

      he would have ordered an assault, which the germans could easily counter causing huge damage and many casualties to soviet forces…

    • RE: How likely should Sealion be?

      80+
      if they win, the game is just getting started; especially if they buy 10 transports and move entire army to take it.
      if they lose immediatly wiuth such a costly attack, you can restart game.

    • RE: Best way to Barb the Russkies?

      pick 1 goal, go to it (preferably bryansk), keep reinforcing met mechs and perhaps some tanks.
      italian units can help defend; they take territory; germans move on it and in their zog they land fighters.

    • RE: 7 Questions i need help with because the rulebook sucks.

      @Keodis:

      what i mean in question 2 is:

      i have a mech. inf. ( i chose them  in this example because they are not tanks and can move 2 ). i move him through an unoccupied enemy territory and stop in another unoccupied enemy territory. do i gain control of the first enemy territory i passed through?

      this was never specified in the rule book. but they explain blitzing. if i do gain control of the first territory then why is the blitz even in the game ??

      a lonely mech must stop (and take) the first territoy it encouters.

      @Keodis:

      I take control of midway and im playing as Japan. there was no combat because midway was unoccupied. this is still a declaration of war against USA? im very sure it is

      logically, you are right. assaulting units, conquering territories and convoy blocking are declaration of wars.

    • RE: Taking Back France

      @theROCmonster:

      I don’t see how Russia can take out Germany. In every game I’ve played russia falls to germany. Unless the rolls are attrocious for Germany, or America invests heavily in atlantic I see Russia falling nearly every game.

      some people aren’t stuck to patterns and use sealion…
      bit admitted, losing Berlin even then is already quite heavy, even though russia can easily mount to 50IPC…
