Does it have to be in writing?
Yes, with an official stamp. Completed in triplicate. The yellow copy is yours.

Trying so hard to resist the irony… ;)

RE: ANZAC Questionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
Does anyone have any advise for the ANZAC player of our next game?
Yeah, tell all your “extra” players to come over to my house. I can never find anyone to play! I have plenty of beer…

RE: US 3rd turn attackposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I believe the clarification was that they go to war at the beginning of the collect income phase of Turn 3. So you collect the extra money in Turn 3, but you have to wait until Turn 4 to attack.

That’s cool. Just let me know. Maybe I can talk my brother-in-law into coming down, too! (he lives in Greece)

RE: US income questionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
- If Japan should attack the US on turn 1, the US does not collect its extra 40 bonus until round 2 of its collect income phase?
If Japan attacks on turn 1, the US instantly gets the bonus and will collect it during the collect income phase of its next turn (US turn 1).
- On round three, if not attacked by Japan, the US does collect its extra 40 income, therefore being able to spend it round 4 to purchase units?
I think Krieg explained that the bonus occurs at the beginning of the collect income phase of Turn 3, so yes.
- If Japan attackes the US on round 3, the US does not get the actual extra 40 income until its collect income phase in round 4?
Since Japan goes before the US, a Japan attack on turn 3 would trigger the bonus, so the US could collect the money on their next turn (US turn 3).

RE: New Zealandposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
The problem is, I don’t think any of the “playtesters” actually playtested the final product. Almost all of the problems can be linked to production errors.

RE: New Zealandposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I think that’s the biggest thing that bothers me about all of this. I understand that things can fly under the radar during production (although this is an awful lot flying under the radar). I can’t believe the lack of support that WotC has for one of its newest products. You can’t even download an original instruction booklet from the site yet, much less a corrected one. Maybe if it was Magic: The Gathering - Pacific 1940, there would be more up-to-date support for it.

RE: New Zealandposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
- There is a minor factory complex on New Zealand.
This was fixed in an errata. No IC on New Zealand, Major IC is now a minor in New South Wales.

RE: Dutch territoryposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I would like to suggest that the great unwashed horde of us should get a look early at anything that will be different for AA40E and AA40Glbl.
But that would ruin the surprise, and destroy the mystique that WotC has created around these games!

RE: UK/ANZAC at war questionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I think they didn’t mention it because it’s irrelevant. If the US is in the war, what is the benefit of UK/ANZAC being peaceful? The only reason Japan doesn’t attack them off the bat is to keep the US out of the war. The same is true of UK/ANZAC attacks. The only reason UK doesn’t jump right in to support China is so they aren’t getting bludgeoned by Japan without drawing the US into the war.
If I’m reading your second question right, yes, attacking convoys is an act of war.

RE: Ok We Give Upposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
@Frontovik:
subs can’t do more damage than a countries’ value
so japan + korea: max of 11 damage, even with 6 or 7 or 8 or 91569 subs ;)You missed the errata. You can block an extra IPC beyond the maximum if using 90,000 subs or more.

RE: My Piece Compartments Solutionposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
@Craig:
We concentrated on our work as it related to the Europe and Global rules and map. I think that we did a good job of making sure things are in good shape for those games.
Have you seen the official map?? ;)
