i think that some of the color got messed up pretty bad
Germany: they should be gray but look black as hell
Soviets: I guess they over-looked the whole RED Army thing, huh?
Italy: They should be blue, like in the TripleA map

You can tell your getting it if you see a box that is between the size of a Guitar Hero World tour box and everything else
i revised a tried hitting a us fleet in the med. of 3 transport and a dd with 3 fighters and a bomber, i hit nothing and they took out every thing i had :x
US2 - land in ALG
US3 - wipe out Italian fleet
US4-5 buildup of landing party / capturing EGY/TRJ
US6 - Time to strike Italy proper!
my problem with that is that you may be sacrificing troops that could better be used on the pacific front or on france
The operation to open a second front in the war seems strategically sound, but i myself have never been able to do it. :-(
Feel free to include any strategies to accomplish this
and the bombarding ships cant be hit by defending fire right?
they’re all valid points. i think it just comes down to your own individual games. most of us are experiences enough to know if and when placing an IC is worthwhile. you just have to watch what the enemy does closely
i’ve seen games where it was worth UK building an IC in India, and i’ve seen games where it was a bloody terrible idea
i gotta agree with u, it all depends on how japan wants to play their game, there is no end-all-be-all perfect strategy
The 2 best are either Italy or Russia
Italy because they are the smallest and don’t have to deal with a lot of logistics
The Russkies because you can follow 1 simple strategy ( go all out on the fascists) and still do fairly well
i wound up choosing UK but it is a bit of a toss-up between them and Italy. I like Uk because they are really open ended, are well balanced, and dont have to deal with too many large scale ground engaements ( :-P)
I like italy for some of the same reasons and because they’re more tactical than strategic.
IC in India: ensures instant ground pressure on japan as well as a decent naval base, it can be devastating if lost
IC in Australia: lets you flank the japanese navy and unite with the american fleet, hard to use ground troops though….
IC i Canada: Only worth it if:
A) you reeeally don’t wanna lose your IC
B)the japs are going all out on alaska and california
Do nothing: keeps pressure on the germans, US might get overwhelmed
Push through ME: lets you use spare troops in North Africa and the Med. , might be a very small force though…
it all depends on the Japanese player. last '41 game i played, UK destroyers from Australia and India, respectfully, destroyed two lightly defended Japanese transports and re-took most of the islands it had lost on J1. the Japanese fleet was too busy with the USA, so these same forces then moved up and added to the defence of India
i didn’t choose any option, as you didn’t leave a ‘use what forces are there to your best advantage’ selection in the poll :-P
I probably shouldve done that instead of the canada option since i dont think any1 does that
lol
A lot of people argue over this so i figure its about time to get some hard data on the issue
Im 14 now , turning 15 on christmaseve, I first played d-day about 2 years ago ( wich sucked by the way) i been playin europe and revised mostly and cant wait for the anniversary ed :-D
