Escort serviceposted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
Just noticed that interceptors and escorts are not discussed in the rulebook but are listed in the faqs as an optional rule. Was this from oversight? Second, are players using escorts/ intereceptors in games, league or otherwise?

RE: How will AA42 promote a Pacific Theater?posted in Axis & Allies Spring 1942 Edition
Agreed. I’m still not sure why anyone is that interested in this upcoming game if they already have AA50 or revised.

Splitting Hairs???posted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
I’m generally not into this type of question but I don’t understand how a fighter can land on a newly purchased carrier if the plane lands in phase 5 and carrier is not placed until phase 6. What is the rationale?

Quick sub questionposted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
just reread aa50 rules and noticed that subs cannot submerge with enemy destroyer present. this is different from previous
versions. what was the impetus for the rule change? -
RE: Conquest of the Empire: where can I get the original rules?posted in Other Games
passing 100 talents so first inflation sets at 105. Each city is worth an additional 5. So if you play by your rules you can still set inflation and get the preinflation prices by ending your turn at the 100 mark buying and placing your pieces. The placement of the city will move you to 105

RE: Conquest of the Empire: where can I get the original rules?posted in Other Games
Just checked my rules….I havent played in over 15 years. I was correct. There may be a way around it with your set of rules. On the turn when you reach 100 talents purchase a city…when you place it on the board it is worth 5 talents and then inflation is set.

RE: Nazi Germany VS The Soviet Unionposted in World War II History
I think Germany had no chance to win. Just look at the difference in the size of their 41 and 42 offensives. In 41 they attacked from the Baltic to Black sea , in 42 only with army group south. In the spring of 42 the German army was in a sorry state…most divisions were at 50-60% manpower. The panzer arm was even worse with some divisions having less than 70 tanks and these [PzkIII and PzkIV] were inferior to the Russian types. Even if the 41 campaign was managed better the Germans still could not replace their losses as well as the Russians. I’m not sure capturing Moscow would make a difference….the government could retreat to the Urals. I know there are some historians who use this forum. Perhaps they could provide some insight.

Dont have a link for the rules but in the original rules inflation occurred the turn following who set it. If you set it you get a one time pass.

RE: N00b requesting assistanceposted in Player Help
From looking at the game board your yellow brethren are doing well. You need to start buying more infantry with maybe 1-2 armor/turn moving toward eastern europe looking to attack Russia once you are sufficiently strong. Japan should start building units in India to add more pressure on Russia or move to Africa.

RE: Is blitzing viable?posted in Axis & Allies: Battle of the Bulge
I blitz sparingly and typically only to make a small hole bigger or to get into Neufchauteau bypassing Bastogne and early on around St. Vith and maybe into Malmedy or Eupen if oppurtunity presents
lets see
You are correct that you have to be mindful of the enemy ZOCs or else you can get your troops in a bad position but you are also often creating that situation for the enemy with the blitz
by god… i think ive got it

Boy , that was fast. Maybe you should change your moniker to Blitzkrieghund.

RE: Conquest of the Empire: where can I get the original rules?posted in Other Games
The game times can extend indefinitely if people choose not to attack. There is a period of time where you build up your legions as you only start with 4 infantry in your home territory.
You move your pieces around getting more territory which reults in more talents (money) to purchase more units. try to be the person who sets inflation as the prices will double for purchases subsequent to your turn.

RE: What if fighters that defend an SBR have their territory captured during combat?posted in Axis & Allies Europe
Although not defending I believe they are considered in the air during the attack so they shouldnt be destroyed. However, I’m not sure if they can move their full movement on ncm or just 1 space like planes on carrier which was sunk…. I’m thinking the latter. Lets see what Krieg has to say.

RE: Question about PBFposted in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition
I’m thinking about popping my cherry as well. Maybe a theatre size game like AAP may be good for testing out pbf as the game length is limited an there essentially 2 turns /round.
