Got A-Bomb sorted. Just need to get the right turn sequences and get the yanks up to speed with jerry.

They will auto place now but still need to fight in edit.

I used Moscow for testing purposes. They go right after Germany and I like the visual results. ๐Ÿ™‚

The destruction of the WTC and other attacks are known as โ€œ9/11โ€. Its not an official holiday and no one calls pearl harbor โ€œ12/7โ€ day because its not catchy or resonant. If we call it independence day, thatโ€™s an american-dependent reference; people from other countries are not likely to know (or care) when our independence was declared or why that particular day was chosen to commemorate a 7 year long war or a 30+ year struggle, and are likely to have their own โ€œIndependence Dayโ€, in some countries it might ironically mark independence from the rule of the US (like Phil).

Itโ€™s like Canada Day. I have no idea why July 1 is marked that way on my desk calendar, it just is. Canada never fought a war of independence and it was peacefully and gradually partitioned off from its parent nation and so unless I open the wikipedia article I have abs. no idea (nor do I care) why or what that is or how its celebrated.

Take Boxing Day. To an american, its WTH is that? But to a UK resident, theyโ€™re likeโ€“thatโ€™s when you open presents. And we say, you mean Christmas? And they say, well noโ€“we donโ€™t open presents Christmas morning thats a custom thats not universal. It might be better called โ€œunboxing dayโ€ but there was a point not so long ago when regular people were too poor to afford to give gifts at regular intervals and so such a holiday might have been exceptional in the past but a common and universal event today. The timing of that โ€œfeastโ€ or exchange isโ€ฆentirely customary.

Or Guy Fawkes Day. They set off fireworksโ€“that must be when the UK became independent? How does that relate to a catholic plot to blow up Parliament? Becauseโ€ฆwellโ€ฆfireworks? Or perhaps we just liked your July 4th celebration idea and its alot like chinese new year but the chinese are able to provide fireworks all year roundโ€“can we just arbitrarily choose a certain holiday then decide how to celebrate it at some other point?

      Well, yes.

Same halloween. In the UK they didnโ€™t have a dress-up holiday, but they liked that idea when they saw it in the US and so now they do.

Because these are all cultural customs and without culture-specific knowledge, theyโ€™re all meaningless.

@SS-GEN said in How does one access the old forum ?:

When I looked back I just scrolled back in pages to find what I was looking for. But I think you can only do 1 page at a time and there will be less pages than old forums
Just look for the topic or de Gaulle topic.

yea iโ€™ve done that before. came across that link while searching was wondering why it didnโ€™t work.

      @Panther Thanks

@djensen Yes, the old forum software allowed to somehow cluster the mass of top categories, so they appeared more sorted and compact. Now the new theme had them all showing up in a somewhat endless list, thatโ€™s why categorizing appeared to be a valid solution to us.

Obviously categorizing (top and sub) is not the best way to give categories/forums a logical structure by clustering forums that thematically belong together. As de-emphasizing or hiding has never been our intention.

So instead of breaking the idea of having reasonable groups of forums - are there maybe other supported tools that allow us to group our categories reasonably, preventing from โ€œtop and sub, de-emphaszise and hideโ€?

to @djensen @Panther @redrum . You all have put a lot of work into the transition. @simon33 has been helpful with his comments as well.

And thank you to everyone else helping out with the change.

It may take a while to get used to the new program, but itโ€™s gonna work just fine : )

      Peace
