    • RE: Winter is falling upon us

right now its 37F.  it was much colder earlier, but the first storm is on its way this week.

i live in the great plains.  its as hot as 104 in the summer with almost total humidity in august, and as cold as 50-60 below zero wind chills in the winter.

      the four seasons baby.

    • RE: German Navy and France

the french fleet was good enough that it scarred the shit out of the enlgish that the germans may get it.

thats why the english attacked the french fleet twice.

capital ships would have helped greatly in the med. sea

it could have given them a lake so to speak.  most capital ships in WW2 did a great deal of good avoiding each other, and scaring other lesser ships away.

maybe the allies use planes to attack.

    • RE: What do You think?

to a degree.  i’m doing a professional book report on the book _Cataclysm _:the first world war as political tragedy, and its a superb book.

everyone you ever ever ever needed to know about WWI.  it doesnt go that much into depth in the battles, but covers major aspects of battles, but its really all about background.  its awesome.

its argued in a part in the book that the Versailles treaty didnt necessarily have to create the second world war, but certain demands(primarily by the french) and then the inability of france to back up those threats of force in case of noncompliance certainly exacerbated the problem.

a lot of things had to go wrong in the perfect way at the perfect times to create possibilities for a new conflict.__

    • RE: The rebirth of the Airship?

its a good idea, but i dont think people will fly in them.  the airlines could put a hindenburg campaign out easily.  but then again, maybe people will fly in them.  i had to vote no, b/c i still dont think many people would, but it makes sense to go cheaper, but longer.

maybe there will be two methods, and this will allow the super poor to travel long distances.

    • RE: Beer

      guiness and newcastle are excellent.

nothing is better than guiness floated on harp lager, the half and half.

but i’m still a bud heavy drinker with coor light my favorite in both types of domestics.

but thank God for Canada and Crown Royal and coke, absolutely perfect.(not beer, but its great).
