I agree with KNP7765. USA is very difficult to play WELL.
I can play Allies.
If you want, just start a thread, chose tech or not and post G1.
And someone recently told me you can hold Ctrl AND shift together to move whole stacks. Handy, for my stacks of 50 infantry!

I would say yes, it definitely worth buying it !
Personally, i found it much easyer than Battle of the Bulge to understand the rules.
Also, you get to chose the units you want for each turn, which, in my opinion, is more fun than having it all set up like in BOB or DDay.
Until Global (alpha+2) came out, Guadalcanal was my favorite one, it’s really fun if you have 2-3h to spend playing with one of your buddies (your 1st games could last 4-5h though when you’re not used to it).

I cannot remember how many planes the German start with that can attack the british fleet but I am going to assume it is around 7
Actually, all 11 german planes can hit the british fleet (2 of them are limited to SZ112 though).

I agree with everything you wrote except this. Why would the allies be dumb enough to get one of their “mini” fleet destroyed ?
I have had success with both strats as japan…. Attacking Russians or leaving them it all depends on what is happening elseware, and what opportunities arise. And questioner stop dumping on canadians, what’s wih that?

Hmm……These planes have nothing to do until germany DOW Russia. So why not sending them east on R1 ?
If Germany doesn’t buy some transports for Sealion on G2, they can come back on R2. If Germany goes Sealion, those planes are more useful in the east than sitting for 4 turns near the western front line.
Canadians have lost their 7th game against the Boston Bruins yesterday. I’m disgusted.
Now, all that’s left to root for is the canucks.

Most of them were pretty cool actually, it would be neat if Larry would update them for G40. And give Japan some better ones because they had crap NA’s.
I like them too, excepted for the russian lend lease NA. This one totally breaks the game IMO.

I also noted that some of the invdividuals making the most significant contributions to this thread, under the exact same setup, not 2 months ago, had the opposite thoughts regarding their positions, because of the supposedly unavoidable loss of London to Germany…
I did not dare to make these comments since they do not contribute at all to refute the theory (USA kill Japan and then go after Germany/Italy), but man, i so totally agree with you…

the Allies combined earn 196 IPC, including most NOs and Territories by round 4That’s a difference of 81 IPC and that is a HUGE hurdle to cross! I am not even totally sure the game designers are aware of this problem,

Ok, let’s see…. Typically, we have Germany at 50-55, Italy at 25-45 (gap is big depending if SZ97 has been, or not, obliterated on UK1) and Japan around 60. In the worst case, it’s 135-140 IPC for Axis…
115 vs 196…So i understand that Germany has intended Sealion and failed, Italy got her fleet destroyed and only managed to get 1 NO(at best) by round 4 and Japan has focused on China and Russia only…Maybe we can meet your 115 -196 numbers with these conditions…
