    • RE: Naval Mine Questions

Ah, okay. Reading the rules now, I cannot find anything on that US transports cannot be loaded before they are at war. Where does it say that?

    • RE: Naval Mine Questions

I thought the Americans could not move out from their coast (with the exception of a single sea tile right outside the coast for warships) before they were at war.

I didn’t think you could scramble more than 3 planes?

    • RE: What creates a hostile sea zone?

If a submarine begins its turn in the same space as a destroyer, may it move out of the sea zone without conducting combat?

For transport, if it starts in a sea zone in the same space as an enemy surface warship, can it move out of the sea zone without conducting combat?

    • RE: Game Aids A&A 1940 Global 2nd Edition

These charts are great, I have them printed out and laminated. But we noticed an odd thing, namely that on the order of play sequence France is missing.

      @Anzac:

You can buy the historical board gaming 1939 global map, from what ive heard/seen its huge!! Its 4 x 8!.

Is it the exact same as the 1940 map?

    • RE: French Territories: Poll Question

Very interesting Clerc, thanks. Do you know where I can find more strategic discussion on this forum on global 1940, any key threads you know of? The articles on this forum seem to be aiming at the very basics of the game.

    • RE: French Territories: Poll Question

How do you go about invading Germany as the allies? In what kind of situations have you done it, what turn, approximately how many units, etc…? In our games it seems the only possibility is when Germany has most of their aircraft out of range of Normandy.

Followup question, is this made for the second edition of 1940, or the first edition? Maybe there are no differences on the board itself, but we are playing the 2nd edition. Same question for the charts, are they for 2nd or 1st edition?

That is really amazing, thank you! I am planning to print your setup and diplomacy charts as well.

Does there exist a nice big global map available for download or purchase? The original board becomes a little small after a while, especially in Europe.

EDIT: I should add that I am looking for something custom made or of very fine quality, not just a photograph of the existing board, which I see is available here on this website.

      Thanks for any information.

    • RE: Question about placing units in hostile sea zone

Thanks. But do you have a reference from the rulebook (to settle the discussion we had)? We just couldn’t find it. It would also be interesting to hear of other combat moves that doesn’t result in combat (other than attacking empty hostile territories).

    • Question about placing units in hostile sea zone

As far as I understand, it is possible to mobilize new units even in hostile sea zones, but what then happens on my opponents turn? Are his units stuck and forced to conduct combat, or are they free to move out of the hostile sea zone?
