Look to your left and click on the [applaud]. The Karma # will go up.  You can’t give yourself karma and it limits how often others can be given it.

    • RE: Good Rolls

In another miniatures game I used to play hand to hand fighting was decided just by a single die role by each player with high role killing the opponent and ties going to the attacker.  I was defending a buliding with three soldiers and I beat off 86 attackers one role at a time.

    • RE: New to the game and forums

At least with only a few pieces you get to really know how to employ them best.

      Welcome to the game

    • RE: Question about destroyed and disrupted face down counters.

Have a look in the Expanded rules book for “Enfilade Fire”.

If you get a unit adjacent to an enemy unit then during your assault phase you can say that that the enemy unit is preoccupied(and therefore facing) your adjacent unit.  Then if any other units can trace a line of fire into the rear of that enemy unit they get a plus one on their rolls.

Of course if you surround an enemy with adjacent pieces you can dicate where the facing is so that each of your pieces gets the bonus.

Happy New Year folks.  May you have plenty of gaming time!

    • RE: Eastern Front Trades

I picked up two cases and automatically unbagged them.

My primary interests are in my Commonwealth pieces and German pieces.  Virtually all others are available for trade.

I’m particularily interested in getting more Canadian Ram Kangaroos.

Are you playing the board game or miniatures?  I play miniatures in Peterborough and know some other miniature players in Oshawa.

    • RE: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Just to wrap up this question
Which state has the lowest highest point?

Each state has a highpoint and some of these highest points (or elevations) are lower than others. The correct answer in Delaware!

No, I mean the lowest high point of all the states.

      Mr Toad,

I liked your geography question and had I logged in earlier I would have had it right.

      A return question

Which state has the lowest highest point?

I accept thatthey should rarely have a killing capacity against infantry but would welcome sheer terror and increase an ability to disrupt.

Just said to my wife this morning how glad I am to have busted my … to pay off the mortgage.  Whatever happens, I’ll survive.

In fact I’ve enough AAMinis to last a life time so I can save money there any time as well.

    • RE: What the Heck is Overwatch?

Our experience is that it takes another counter to identify who is in overwatch and I think there is a limit of how many units in a standard game may be placed on overwatch.

If you have good lines of sight with extended range units you can effectively shut down areas of the board.  Buy the Expanded rules.  I also really like grazing fire for the machine guns.

    • RE: Preping a campain for a gaming group, new players

I like to get into the big games (so far at 1800 points each, heavy on the armour and 700 when infantry heavy).  I love the look of 3 D boards and build my own from styrofoam.

When you get that big, you need umpires who are really into the rules and who can keep the game on task.  Each player really can’t effectively fight more that 15 pieces and fewer is better unless there are all the same model.  Otherwise knowing their special abilities is tough to keep up with.  I have seen all sorts of games lost by those who have not employed the abilities properly.

With multiple players have the teams send up their players in some sort of order and have a designated die roller.  It keeps it faster.  Also, no thinking when its your turn to move or assault.  All that needs to be done ahead of time.

Have fun!  Where are you, can we join in?

Let me know how 40K people take to this.  I’ve a club on my campus (Trent U. in Peterborough Ontario)that I’m unsure of how to break into with this game.

I’m pretty excited about the Kangaroo Ram for the Canadians.  I’ll be looking to trade to get extras of it.

    • Russian chassis

I’ve often believed that the Russians did well because they had fewer parts issues than the Germans because they had fewer chassis designs.  My Russian minis army seems to have a lot of different vehicles.  Was I wrong about this?
