      @hkytown1:

      Bummer Scar.  Dont sell your games dude.  I am 2 and a half hours away and my AA partner is moving to Pheonix soon so I promise to try to make it out to Glockton next month for some games.  I’ll bring my AA50.

      Driving 2.5 hours to play a game for a day is not a wise expenditure of gas or time since you would be on the road 5 hours in the day, but thats up to you, its one of the reason I don’t drive out to the Bay Area where there are several players.

    • RE: Rulebook unit profile changes

      @P-Unit:

      Interesting. My rulebook is the one on the right, and my pieces match the profiles.

      • What are the differences in the rulebooks?

      • Why are there two versions?

      • Which is newer?

      • What the heck happened here?  lol

      sorry for taking to long to respond to this, to answer your questions:

      1: only the silhouettes shown above are differant

      2: to change the silhouettes to match the actual pieces
      3: one on right I think ?
      4: who knows, one will be highly prized and collectible due to its limited run the other, meh.

      Hopefully you didn’t mix your Clue pieces in….I know that damn tank murdered Col. Mustard in Buryatia with the candlestick…

      Actually it was the bomber with the rope in the library.

      Well most games give piece listings, problem is which type of piece design and color goes to which game, furthermore have to decide what i’m willing to sell and what i’m not, right now looking to sell off most of it, since want to make room for another hobby of mine, but on the otherhand would like to keep a game or two if I ever find someone to play(thats been my biggest problem).

      Well decided to sell off some of my A&A games (ones i’m not playing or using), but I had just a week or two ago mixed up all the pieces and grouped them up. so now I have to seperate them and figure out which pieces went to which game (if anyone has pics that would help), as you can see from this pic the tubs on top have the pieces:

      also have to figure out what prices to list them out at, will probably list on craigslist or such.

      @P-Unit:

      Excuse my ignorance, what rulebooks is this a comparison of?

      They are both versions of the rule books for the new A&A: 1941 game.

      To give an idea of the changes in the rulebooks regarding the profile picture changes here is a side by side:

      Funny thing is that is not all my dice, I have a few hundred in another container or two or three, plus all the dice in my games.

      We the consumers would since they would both be lowering prices to compete against each other.

    • RE: HistoricalBoardGaming Price Discrepancy

      @Pacific:

      HBG themselves doesn’t like it either.  It’s just the way their software works and it’s not meant to be misleading in any way.  Just be glad that we finally have access to such high quality pieces at such good prices as well as unparalleled customer service.  I’ve been playing A&A since the beginning and I’ve waited a loooong time for such pieces.  A little software thing is meaningless when seen from that perspective.

      Actually I disagree, they are able to list the actual prices with the items, no way would that interfere with the calculator software for total tabulation, in fact this is the first only store I’ve seen do it that way.

    • RE: HistoricalBoardGaming Price Discrepancy

      Their pieces have a base price, and the other prices are above the base price amount, so say their base price is .15 (usually for infantry) and say a tank says .10 thats above the .15 base price making the tanks .25 ea.

      and yes I too think thats an oddball way of doing their pricing, they should just have total price for ea. unit, also a bit misleading too if you think about it.

      @Variable:

      Yavid is in fact correct. When I had Dave’s game, the rulebook had the pics of the old sculpts as shown in his video. I just opened the rulebook that came with my game I received from CoolstuffInc last week and, low and behold, pics of the new pieces! Apparently the mistake was caught and updated before too many copies were printed. Someone owes Yavid an updated book!

      I haven’t even bothered to figure out if my 1st. copy of 41 rules has the new sculpts or the old sculpts in the pics.

      people have to remember that when the rules were done up along with the pics for said rules, that the pieces were not available for the pics as of yet, so they had to use previous pieces from other games for the pics.

      @sgtwiltan:

      I’ve been scarfing up old 1942 versions as they cost just a tiny bit more than the new 1941.
      It is well worth it at the price vs. getting 2 1941 versions due to the number of extra pieces.
      They will last you more than a little while unless you have to have the new 1942.
      However, getting both 1941 and 1942SE games will give you better flexibility and more parts to play with and gives you a much larger board.
      I wouldn’t suggest getting 2 1941 copies unless you are a piece junkie like me.

      Well i’m getting my 1941 games for under $30 ea. shipped, so theres not much of a differance in price compared to the original 1942 price which has been going up, just saw one go for over $40 shipped.
