I don’t recall who got the first choice in Gettysburg; it may have been decided by a dice rolls at the beginning of the game. For PTV, the Axis are more vulnerable to quirky and devastating battles; whereas the Allies may have much more resilience. Recommend giving the Axis the first re-roll. My recollection is that this was used only in extreme cases, as a player did not want to give up the re-roll option to an opponent. As we are agreeing to this rule after the fact, it is too late to apply it to a G-1 battle.

Really appreciate your sporting and kind offer but war is often unfair. At least it wasn’t the game-ending FIC debacle. I really like the Gettysburg rule where a side can chose to re-roll a particular battle but then the opponent gets the next re-roll choice.
