On the map just posted, the UK Tank and MI are in Alberta.

RE: 20 Playoffs ArtofWar +19 vs Majikforce BM3
As there was a 100% chance of UK victory, I assumed no scramble from S. IT. to defend against the attack from SZ 95.

RE: L21 #3 trulpen (X+6) vs ArtofWar1947 (A) P2V
True dice would have left 5 - 6 Japanese defenders on Malaya. Even if 6, a UK air attack could have reduced the number to 3 - 4. This would have given ANZAC almost a sure victory. As it is (with 8 defenders in Malaya), the UK air attack could be expected to reduce the defenders to 5, with only 2 UK fighters surviving. This would give ANZAC between a 74% and 82% chance of victory, with 1 or 2 fighters surviving. The surviving fighters would be enough to defend the US fleet in SZ 38 if SZ 43 were blocked. The Japanese would almost surely retake Malaya. The UK could counter attack with 2 inf and 2 art and surviving fighters, and ANZAC could counterattack with 1 inf and surviving fighters. However, if the Japanese fleet parked in SZ 132 and defended with 3 CV-based fighters, the counterattacks would be a tough go, and defending against a Japanese counterattack would be even less likely to succeed.
It would be hard to break through any where else.
So, it seemed pointless to continue. As you have already won 3 of 3 (which presumably makes playing the best of 5 irrelevant), I look forward to playing you again next year.

RE: 21L PTV max334 (X+14) vs simone33 (Allies)
It does does not matter whether 2 subs and 4 fighters attack a DD and 3 fighter or vice versa. The DD enables fighters to detect subs and hit them.

RE: L21 PTV Playoff Art of War (Ax+5) v 666 (Al)
No problem. Took some replanning, but I figured out a way to make the marine on on Midway useful.

RE: PTV Art of War (Ax+5) v Nikola (Al)
I did not get a Marti for the US DD in SZ 107, map showed an error indicating that it could display the battle results, t and the map screen froze up showing both the US DD and the Italian sub. From the Italian air Martis, I knew the the US DD had been hit and should not be there. However, without a Marti email for the US DD, I did not know if the DD scored a hit or not. I used dicebot in case the map did not recored the result (as this was the fairest way to resolve the situation). Fortunately, the map did record the dice roll in the game history (the US DD rolled a 3 and missed). So as I indicated, we could disregard the dicebot result.

RE: PTV Art of War (Ax+5) v Nikola (Al)
I don’t particularly like the rule, but is the rule and certainly not cheating to abide by it. It does, though, underscores a moral dilemma: Do you send 1 air crew and 1 sub crew to their deaths for the opportunity to win the war and save the lives of million or not? If I had to make the decision as a real military leader, it would haunt me to sacrifice a good pilot and sub crew (and that of 10 defenseless transports), but for the sake of the general good, I’d have to order the mission. (Thankfully, as an army officer, I never had to make such a decision.) As a part of a game, the decision carries little burden.

It can be very helpful. For example, after completing China’s turn, I completely screwed up the purchase and ncm by the UK. Was able to correct UK purchase and ncm by using the BeforeEndTurnChina autosave.

I can take care of the German sub in SZ 113.

RE: L22 #1 trulpen (X+6) vs ArtofWar1947 (A) P2V
I just ran another sim, and the scramble did not stop the UK infantry and art from landing or have any effect on the US transport. My planning of the US-16 and UK-16 turns was based, in no small part, on this premise. Really tired of the arcane rules that cannot be found in one place and an AA program that does accurately represent rules… Will check with a moderator about how handle this after I get some sleep.

RE: L22 #1 trulpen (X+6) vs ArtofWar1947 (A) P2V
Thanks Gamerman, good to know. It seems, though, like a rule that should change–either the scrambled fighter should destroy the attacking TTs or have no effect. But I’ll leave that to those more knowledgeable about the game. At the very least, it would be nice if the AA program reflected the rules.

RE: L22 #1 trulpen (X+6) vs ArtofWar1947 (A) P2V
Gamerman, there is no rush; I have lost interest in the game. I regret adding to your workload, but I have a problem with erasing initial, unfavorable dice rolls. This seems to have become a trend.
Let me be clear. Previously, I complained that my opponent chose to ignore a Marti notice with a highly favorable outcome for me. Although Trulpen’s email was listed on this email, he would not acknowledge receiving it. Seven minutes later I received Marti notifications that indicated the battle had been restarted, and this time the outcome for me was unfavorable. The most plausible explanation for the data is that the battle was joined and the initial round was unfavorable to my opponent, and so he restarted the game. I dislike raising the issue of cheating, but no other explanation has been offered. We need a clear policy to prevent the possibility of a player ignoring unfavorable dice rolls to gain an advantage.

Leaving the league for awhile makes sense with what happened here. If I realize or hear the MARTI issues have been fixed, I’ll let you know if I remember (in the case that it is months or longer down the road).
Thanks, I would appreciate it.I’m not sure how you define supporting the league - one significant way to support the league is to play a lot of league games, which he has. I would be interested to know what you mean.
I was referring to the annual fund drives ($10=bronze, $25=silver, $50= gold). If this is a concession of the game, please post in the league results thread.
I don’t like quitting on some thing I’ve started. I will finish the game if the dice-roll issue is resolved.I tried to help as best I could, and I’m sorry I couldn’t give a more satisfying answer, but I don’t know a lot about the beneath the scenes MARTI stuff.
I understand, thanks for your effort. -
RE: Post League Game Results Here
Arnold’s Tory wife undoubtedly played a role in his defection to the British (e.g., she put him in contact with her friend British Major Andre). However, the stage was set before this by ingrates in the Army and Continental Congress. Arnold dedicated his health and much of his own wealth to the American cause. He captured Fort Ticonderoga and its many cannons early in the Revolution. The next year in 1776, his brilliant defensive tactics in the Battle of Valcour Island (Lake Champlain) delayed the British attack from Canada on New York State for a year. He also distinguished himself in the Battle of Ridgefield (CN) and the Battle of Saratoga (NY). In the latter, his daring and bravery were probably instrumental in .this major American victory–for which the passive and petty General Horatio Gage took credit. The Continental Congress passed over his promotion because of a quota system, not merit. Rival officers instigated his court martial. The movie “Benedict Arnold: Hero Betrayed” presents an interesting and balanced alternative perspective on Arnold. It is offensive for Trulpen to identify himself with Arnold, because the former’s motives are in a whole different class than those of the latter.
