      @mikawagunichi Because the US Pacific Fleet is exposed to attack? Maybe. I’m not sure how much good it will do me in the long run; I’ll take heavy casualties knocking it out, and it’s not obvious I’ll be able to grab many islands in the gap left open until it can be replaced.

      I do think a game this long and fussy often gets won by whoever makes the second-to-last big mistake…

      @Stucifer Thank you! (I think.) I had hoped to trap your Japanese fleet in southeastern Australian waters; I figured you could take Sydney, but you’d lose enough planes fighting and I’d have enough of a presence in Hawaii that you’d be stuck there for a while. That didn’t work out, because you fought so well in Australia…so if I can’t hit your fleet, maybe I can wear you down on land. The odds of actually taking Tokyo are tiny, but since I was able to take Kwangtung, you might find that the loss of the infantry on the Japanese home islands is punishing. Or not! Maybe you’ll have a surprise for me. I look forward to finding out.

      @mikawagunichi Yeah, there was some risk in that Greek battle, but the actual results were headed toward a 1-in-a-100 disaster. The combat hit differential summary underestimated how bad it was because I did better than average in the tiny battles in Russia that were less important.

      Your Russian battles just now were also a 1-in-a-100 disaster, but I don’t know that it matters very much; there will be time for those to even out.
