if what your asking is does a unit boarding or unloading from a vehicle provoke defensive fire? the answer to that is no. as im not to sure your exact question here.
~if your wondering if a unit on a transport has cover. not exactly. the unit can’t be targeted, (unless its hit with a blast effect) but if the vehicle is destoyed then the unit on board is also destroyed.

Some good suggestions guys, altho I would again just go back and compare stats. It seems like all the artillery are 3 defense, so it’s no worse than others (sIG 33, not THAT’s terrible defense… and 15 points!). But the amount of dice the Bofors rolls and distance it shoots makes it extremely dangerous against advancing infantry, strong against weak tanks, and all while providing great air cover, just in case your opponent spends double the Bofors cost on an airplane. For 9 points, I cannot imagine not taking it. I guess I am just surprised because this becomes about the first unit I have ever seen that would be logical to take under virtually any circumstance. And what I like about the game is that while people can have their favorite units, or have units that they prefer in certain circumstances, there has not been (at least from what I have seen) a piece that is so strong that it demands to be in every force. I hope to see some play at our local shop where it doesn’t have a particularly good game, just to prove my assessment wrong!
The 3/3 defence on a soldier is no way equivalent to a 3/2 or even 3/3 defence on a vehicle.
Also both the quad 50 and brixia mortar are artillery units with 4/4 defence. In fact the brixia can be used with the Romanian Commander for 5/5 defence. (Yes not good, but you could do it).
The QUAD 50 is 4/4 but the BRIXIA MORTAR is only 3/3
i bought 2 cases and i ended up with a butt load of stuff. its a very good set. really like the 2 new troops for the axis that have def. of 5. crazy!!

not at all. its so easy to take down big tanks, if you have just troops to do it. king tigers as big as they are, still have a weakness. I play 300 point games all the time and we see IS-2, King tigers, tiger 1, and easy 8 and they go down just as sweet as the next tank
thats an interesting idea GRIM. the axis are really hurting not having something cheap that can transport. As for that matter not having any decent vehicles or tanks that can transport really sucks.
here is some maps again. although there not the exact size of the current ones. but none the less thats what sizzors are for.
i treat it like a collector. ( that way my wife can’t get too pissed) but if you want to dive into it hot and heavy. I would strongly suggest buying cases and buying them online. Through like ebay or something. I wouldn’t personally pay more than 110.00 for a case and that includes s&h. I’ve bought cases for both set 1 and 2 at 105.00 and just preordered set 3 for 110.00. well worth searching for them rather than going to your local game store. Where the price of 1 booster is 15.00. you save almost 70.00

If by tourney para bomb you mean too many paratroopers to shoot at. then the answer to this is NO. this 150 point build isn’t the way to go. I tried this and my buddy brought out 8 paratroopers and 2 captains. that alone caused way too much chaos, not to mention the shermans. i haven’t tried it against an all out sherman swarm. but again i would say NO. shermans are so powerful especially in hordes. ( but that def of the KT is awe strucking)

GRIM. yes they can print them at kinkos if you bring them a disk. have them print them up on card stock. its actually quite nice
I tried a commisar surrounded by snipers and mortar teams and a red devil captain. i tell you what, a mortar team without the -1 is devestating to anyone. and rolling 4 dice against a vehicle at long range. the odds are in your favor to get 2 successes aka 4. and a sniper going up against a SS-PG with a commisars ability to top it off, and rolling 7 dice. can’t get much better than that. If i think the germans are going to bring in some big tanks, i will throw in a inspiring lieut. and some 3" guns. then i can move everyone during movement phase if need be, and a 3" gun at +1 is very devistating.
