A&A super geek here. I’ve played A&A since I was 12 years and 2 days old, starting as Russia in Classic on Friday December 11th, 1998.
My 17 month younger brother is also an A&A-addict, and we were both blessed to have another ardent A&A-player and addict under the same roof for years, providing the easy access to hundreds and hundreds of games.
I own at least one copy of every A&A version ever published, including reprints and 2nd Editions. Wife shakes her head at my closet.
Global 1940 is my favourite, with Anniversary Edition as number 2. Classic and Old Europe are nostalgic favourites.
I’m originally from Kristiansand, Norway, but I’ve lived in Atlanta, GA of the glorious U.S. of A. since 2013.
I’m the facilitator for the MeetUp Group called Axis & Allies Atlanta, and we host a lot of tabletop games. We have several huge enthusiasts here that have dedicated entire spaces of their house to A&A, so we’ve fortunate to enjoy a lot of good gaming.
Looking forward to any game put out by Larry Harris. WarRoom should be awesome!

In JDOW we trust! SOMEONE has to break the current Adam streak. But then again, Adam’s streak is nothing if not incredible. Reminds me of AllWeNeedIsLove back in 2013.
It’s Adam’s genius and flexibility even in the light of horrific dice vs. JDOW’s unmatched long-term planning.
What should the over/under be for rounds on this one?
Any takers? (JDOW, you used to work in the gambling industry, perhaps you can help us with some playable bets?)

I could attempt to fight on, bring German stack 2 down to protect India and then swing everything of Japanese fleet to attempt a 3 round seizure of Australia or Hawaii, but with the way the battle went, and the overall position, it would most likely be futile.
I lost to a worthy opponent. It was a marathon. I’ve never played this long into a game that I can recall.
yah at this point, pretty much your only real possible hope would be maybe with Japan, but there are a few problems with that:
1. allies are very strong in china, so you’d have to stop that onslaught while also protecting india from the US fleet that could swing back into the Indian Ocean quickly.
2. I have a rather large fleet and stack in Spain, that’s only a couple hops away from Hawaii and Australia. and I have a sizeable presence in the pac as is, with Anzac heavily fortified.
3. you lost a rather large number of Japanese planes in that battleetc.
yah I’ve had some pretty long games, but not so many long ones in bm, and definitely nothing this long in a while.
Exactly. Which is why I decided that if the Rostov battle went poorly, it would be over :)
