That is pretty amazing. I would love to try something like that. However, I’ll stick with one hobby vehicle for the time. I wonder why he picked a Panzer to replicate. Perhaps he’s a A&A nut like the rest of us. Thanks for the info.

This just makes me want my own tank all the more. I know it’s not fuel efficient, but what a sweet ride it would be. Plus, there’s parking everywhere, you just have to roll over a few mini vans.

Germany is definitely the more fun to play of the two Axis powers. However, Japan poses more of a challenge when dealing with troops spread across so many islands and also having to deal with main land Asia.

Not that we shouldn’t reflect more often throughout the year on the tragedy that was WWII and how many innocent lives it claimed throughout the Jewish populace, as well as many other groups.

I don’t think that Germany is overpowered in the game, I was just pointing out that they have a very large military buildup at the begginning of the game. They clearly need this in order take advantage of early game action. However, anyone who plays the Allies correctly should have a very good advantage against Germany starting in mid game.

Yes, a Stalingrad expansion would be sweet.

A&A Stalingrad would be a great expansion, as there has not been any specifics to focus solely on the Eastern front.

No need to worry, he’ll only be charismatic when he’s cleaving through ranks of his enemies. After the bloody battle, he’ll be back to his sullen, beer swilling self.

It would be cool to see an updated version of A&A Europe released, possibly with Italy included. I know that there were some previous posts to the above on another section of the forum. I think A&AE is the best expansion to play and I would love to see a newer version with the revised rules incorporated. Oh well, something to dream of. To that effect, will there actually be any more A&A releases after the Anniversary edition? There’s not too many more epic battles that they can release expansions on.

I’m going to take the high road with choosing a class and go with the ever rage fueled barbarian. Everybody loves him when he goes berserk, just an all around charismatic guy. With the excpetion of a torso sundering battle axe, hee, hee.  :evil:

He doesn’t know yet, as he’s only played a few times. However, I’m not about to point that out to him. When I play as the Allies, then he’ll find out. Can’t let your friends in on all the secrets.  :-D

I’m in for playing a fighter. Unless of course it’s taken, then I’ll stick with the rogue. I would stick with 3.5, as it is generally easier for most people. Thaco can be a nightmare for newbies.

That’s very true. I just like having as much AA coverage over the reich as possible. One of the guys I play against just loves using his bombers to wreak havoc with my economy. So, I guess I’ve gotten a little AA gun crazy. I figure they’re not too costly for the potential coverage they provide. I buy up that amount of infantry to free up all available armor, artillery & fighters to fight on the Eastern front. Next game, I will probably shuffle the S. Europe AA gun up to Germany and that up to Norway. At least I’ll be able to field another tank. Thanks for the advice Cmdr Jennifer.

Mass tank attacks are a lot of fun, but they can get bogged down with Russia’s seemingly endless infantry. I try to keep the pressure on Russia, not just from their western front, but also from their southern flank by taking the Middle East. If you can convey enough troops and have an effective presence in the Middle East, then Russua will eventually be looking to defend their southern assets and hopefully pull a little pressure off your western front attack force.

So, is anyone going to play? I personally prefer 3.5 over earlier editions. As 3.5 was not so confusing on some issues, such as thaco and negative armor class. Who the hell came up with the lower your armor class, the better. Anyways, 4.0 should be pretty good. In the meantime I’m up for playing if anyone is going to.

I’ve been toying with a one AA gun and 11 infantry buy on G1. I use the transport to pick up 1 inf & 1 AA gun from Germany and bring them to Norway for reinforcement. This at least gives you better protection in the North so the Allies cannot completely overwhelm you. For attack on G1, I push all the armor from Germany towards KAR with some forces from Eastern EU and the fighter from Norway. You should be able to attain victory in KAR with these forces and then create a picket line stretching from KAR through BEL and Ukraine SSR, after reinforcement. I have had some good success with this strategy and it should leave you in a good position to launch an assault on CAU from several different points.
