    • RE: Favorite WWII Ship

I’d have to throw my vote in for the type VII U-Boat, as they wreaked so much havoc across the Atlantic. However, I’ve got to tip my hat to the Enterprise, what an amazing ship and crew.

    • RE: Gametableonline.com/facebook PBEM AA revised !!! it totally rocks !!

I just started using the gametableonline site for my A&A fix. I’m loving it as it is the same program that was on the Gleemax boards at Wizards. Now I can play A&A whenever I desire, life is good.

    • RE: A&A Enlarged Map

That is a sweet map and it’s great that you have so much more room to play with on the European front, which is the most needed. I think I’ll save my pennies for the A&A Anniversary Edition.

Wow, she was a bad ass sniper. I’d hate to have crossed her territory.

    • RE: Anniversary Edition at Gen Con?

I’d be happy to get one at Costco Imperious, just as soon as you ship me the cash for it. As I’ve already spent enough on air fare with hotel, not even including spending cash for the event. I think a disposable camera at this point would be more cost effective, as I don’t really have a big need for a digital right now. So many expenses. And yes, I.L. answers all.

I’m going to GenCon as well. I’ll also see if I can take some pictures for posting. However, I have to invest in a new digital camera before going out, mine is too unreliable.

    • RE: Sneaky German Marksmen

That was a really great site and had some very good information on the snipers tactics and their impact on the war. I didn’t realize what a large influence they had on the Western front and how they devastated so many troops. It’s amazing what these individuals were capable of.

    • RE: Another tank found

That’s pretty crazy. I wonder why it seems that more are being pulled out now, then in previous years. I wonder if a land owner somewhere in Europe stumbled across one of these relics, would he/she get to keep it if they wanted? Or would it revert back to the government of the country they’re in or from whatever country it was from? That would be a cool fact to know. Europe is just full of history, what an amazing place.

Another sweet piece of history found. I wonder what they’ll dig up next? Do you know if they got it running? Or are they in the process of repairing it? I would love to see one of those old tanks/tank destroyers in action.

    • RE: France Defence by Germany

You should probably stick with the approach that Field Marshall Rommel wanted, to have a strong defense network to break the Allies on the beach heads of France. If you don’t have enough units in Western Europe to repel the initial invasion, then you will have a hard time of throwing the US and UK back out of Europe. I had to deal with a strong UK/US invasion on Western Europe and I was able to hold the line, as I had been stacking units there since turn one, it was a phenominal difference.

    • RE: Is Battle of the Bulge worth buying?

Well, thank you all for the comments and I appreciate the good feedback. I have been looking into it more and will certainly be picking it up. Also, the fact that it is a two person game will be easier to find another available player. I am especially interested in the idea of supply tokens and only a set number of available reinforcements. It appears that Battle of the Bulge will certainly take a different skill set and ingenuity to play through than other A&A expansions. Thanks again.

Sweet, thank you. It certainly sounds more challenging on a different level, as opposed to Revised.

    • Is Battle of the Bulge worth buying?

      Hey all,
I just wanted to get a general opinion of Battle of the Bulge. I see that no one has posted in this particular game thread for some time and was curious to see if anyone still played it. I am thinking about picking it up, but have gone undecided. I love A&A Revised and A&A Europe. Is the gameplay similar to those two sets, or is it more of a rushed game to decide where your resources will go?

Any opinion, positive or negative of A&A Battle of the Bulge expansion will be appreciated. Thanks.

    • RE: Any way Axis can win this game????

Very true, that’s why it’s a gamble. But, if they do reconqueror it in UK1, they will have meager forces and you should have no trouble ousting them in G2, but of course your production facility would be delayed. As for defense, you’ll have at least one unit in Egypt at the end of G1, which is not much, however if you hold it, you’ll be able to reinforce in G2, along with the production facility and I have thrown in a AA gun in one game, just for a little extra protection.

    • RE: Any way Axis can win this game????

This is a different approach that I have had some success with for the Axis forces. I attempt to knock out all the UK forces in Egypt on G1 with attacks from Libya, reinforcements from Italy via the transport, use the Batttleship to take out the UK destroyer, along with either the bomber from Germany or a fighter from one of the Southern Europe contries to attack Egypt. That should be enough forces to take out the UK Egypt garrison, allowing for at least one German unit to move in for occupation. On G2 I buy a production facility and deploy it to Egypt at the end of turn 2, along with several reinforcements to bolster the Egyptian defenses. I realize that this can be pretty risky, as you’re pulling a fighter and/or a bomber from the European front. However, if you can manage without them for some time, you won’t have to keep shuttling forces into Egypt from Europe and can pump out 2 units a turn in Egypt there to help secure the rest of Africa.

    • RE: Nazi Germany VS The Soviet Union

Oh, I’m not arguing the mechanization issue. If Germany had gone into a total war economy and war production, then they probably could have matched Russia better at least in the tank and artillery department, not the man power. Germany just didn’t prepare as well as they should have for the invasion of Russia. If they had, then they probably would have had a variety of vehicles that could handle the perpetual cold, along with more winter weather gear for the troops.

    • RE: Nazi Germany VS The Soviet Union

It’s interesting to think of how advanced and mechanized the German Wehrmacht was at the time of WWII, especially with their Blitzkrieg campaigns and yet they still relied on hundreds of thousands of horses for the supply lines in all campaigns of the war.

That’s true. The Tiger body style would probably be very easy to replicate as it is very boxy and there are not too many curves to it’s design. Plus, it is super bad ass. Who wouldn’t want their own Tiger?
