I played against Trulpen a lot.
He was a gentleman of the game, and a very good player and positive person.
Had he had cancer? Is this him in the Blue shirt? Have U known him in person?
I Will pray for him today.
God rest his soul.

when U say he was controversial i suppose U mean the edit thing he had. He always did a bunch of edits not just after his turn, but even after the opponent played. He was polite and he asked if he can do it, and those edits were almost always something he forgot, not something he would do after he sees an opponents move, but still some people were probably annoyed by that.
I think it was because he was so unpatient, and played so fast , and so many games at a time.

@gamerman01 I think I know the big game of which you speak! And I agree that AA is underrated.
I’ll add that in large battles, even with the battle calculator average, adding AA (as long as they would be able to roll a die) is comparable to buying figs in terms of its impact. And since so many smaller attacks involve small numbers of land units supported by several air, having one AA in the mix really complicates the choices for the attacker.
That single AA in Caroline Islands has probably won some games for Japan.
other boosting (instead of lowering the cost and increasing the number of planes u can hit) of aa guns could be
but i think that even if they stay on 5 IPC , its ok since u guys brought some good reasons for it
and my opponent in the last game, told me after the game finished, that until that game of ours, he didnt realized the importance of aa guns (he more or less thought they are of small benefit) -
P.S.i moved all the aa guns from UK and USA to Europe, bided 3 aa guns with UK Pacific, brought those from India forward, and bought several with UK in the Middle East

@WindowWasher i think this is something that should be considered. I think the main reason is, sometimes these games takes FOREVER. What is the “record” to decide a new champ? 1.5 years? 2 years? Could be more stict on time and “always” honor the 72h limit
But i would vote yes to a 16 bracket for the championship. I think it is a good suggestion and will also create more interest.
24 is weird
16 is nice, since u have then 8, 4 , 2
Haven`t been here for some time.
Is the majority of games now played PTV ? Or BM and older versions are still stronger?
And one more question about bids in BM4. Have they changed much ? What are the average bids these days there?
as for bombers, i am playing a game against axis, the opponent bought bunch of bombers with Germany, even few with Japan. Maybe 1-2 with Italy too.

BM4 Fasthard (Axis) vs Amon-Sul (Allies +15)
@Amon-Sul over fasthard
Thanks and congrats!

Thanks fasthard.
I am glad I played against U , cuz U are a good player and gentleman of the game.
For others viewing just this one sentence Fasthard wrote I must say he was really close to victory, in the last round of the game he held 8 VC with Germany, but the Allies were able to pull one back in a 50-50 % battle.
So it was really close, but it had to prevail on one side.
Godspeed

@Adam514 ahhhh, then I misunderstood. Sorry
But there is no plan for changing the cost of battleships and cruisers. Would that follow the same logic or is this not an issue (given no one really buys)
and it is a pretty big question will people massively buy tacs once bombers go to 14 ipc. think not.
@aequitas:
Where is that voice coming from?? :lol: :lol:
Nobody invades true neutrals with Axis but Amon`s Wehrmacht 8-)

@Amon-Sul of course!
AA guns on the Pacific side - does make sense. btw japan does not like it ;-)
There is also an artillery there to boost the offensive capabilities :)
@fasthard said in L24 BM4 Amon-Sul (Axis) vs Fasthard (Allies+24) - Game 5:
@Amon-Sul let’s create a new one after the break. You’ll play the Allies +24?
1 AA gun Sakha
1 AA gun Buryatia
1 art Amur
1 AA gun Burma
1 AA gun India
Do U Like it ;)
Sorry not carriers
Transports :)
I’m not sure if I would have won if Germany had been more successful on the Western Front in the first rounds, but I would definitely like to see what it would have looked like if it had been successful.
Feel free to criticize my play with the Axis Powers, you really need to see your mistakes and omissions to raise the level of the game, but it’s hard to see your own mistakes and omissions, it’s always easier when someone else looks at it.
I don’t think I could have done much more with Japan, I kept the US away from the coast, pushed the Russians and Chinese as much as I could, and took India for a short while. Yes, those British helped India too much and I couldn’t keep it permanently.
I’m afraid this strategy is complicated but I’ll give it another chance in the future.
P.S. As for the carriers in the Baltics, they had a multiple purpose: to threaten London, Leningrad and cover Scandinavia, primarily Norway. They could also reach as far as Spain if necessary.
Do you want that we create the New thread this week
Or shall we do it after break ?
All in all it was a fun game and I’m looking forward to new challenges :)
Thank you for your contribution.
Let’s move on :)
You played very well with the Allies, especially the British gave me problems. The victory is deserved and I have nothing to add.
I am looking forward to our new game (the sixth in a row, in which I will play with the Allies again). We can also create a game, but I need a few days of rest and then I am going to the seaside soon. We can say start the game and maybe play Germany and Russia 1 by the end of the month.
I don’t think there’s any point in continuing. You deserve to win.
I wonder if this strategy (attacking neutrals in the second round) is even viable, even if I played a better Germany and had more luck with it.
I think when I play with the Axis powers I overestimate the importance of the Mediterranean.
I’ll have to be smarter next time.
